Dosh is a new cash back app which offers a card-link rewards program for dining, an online shopping portal, and cash back on travel booking. They also offer $5 for referring friends and up to $7 bonus for new members.

The app launched today and people started noticing that while most of their online shopping portal rates are pretty regular, they have one killer rate:

Now, Amex doesn’t pay out to most portals on gift cards over $200, and that’s why all other shopping portals limit high-denomination gift cards. Dosh doesn’t mention any limitation on denomination.
But even if we’ll limit ourselves to $200 denomination cards, there’s currently an Amex Offer to get $10 off $200 on Amex gift cards. And there’s a promo code: FREESHP17A which waives the shipping fee, explicitly mentioned on Dosh. All you are left with is a $3.95 activation fee, and you’ll pay $193.95 after the Amex Offer credit. That’s a decent offer on it’s own, but throw in $15 from Dosh (7.5%) and that becomes an excellent deal.
I don’t quite understand why they decided to give a killer rate on Amex gift cards while all their other portal rates are pretty typical. Who knows, maybe it’s some sort of exclusive they have with Amex? More likely, Dosh will soon be learning that they are newbs.
I personally haven’t done this deal yet since I don’t relish having to fight tooth and nail for the money, who knows if it’ll even come. This deal certainly won’t last, we’ll have to see how it plays out; hopefully, they’ll pay out for any orders make before it changes.
