Our Verdict

You should be able to just send the Amazon gift card text to yourself (or if that doesn’t work a partner or family member) so basically a $10 bonus credit if you’re targeted. I wasn’t eligible, but fingers crossed you are. If you’re looking for other ways to save money on Amazon then read our complete guide here. If you don’t have a credit card that earns at a high rate on Amazon purchases it might be worth waiting until Q4 starts to earn 5% cash back on the Discover it.

Has anybody tried redeeming the $10 bonus on 3rd party gift cards?

Pulled the trigger. Will wait and see if I get the credit and the email in a few days.

Looks like I’m eligible. When I clicked on the Link, I didn’t see anything saying I wasn’t eligible. I also experienced the same issue with adding the $50 to the Card but on the 2nd attempt, it was successful.

Will report back in a few days if I receive the Credit.

Received an email about the $10 credit, a few days after I bought the $50 Gift Card. BUT when I added items sold by Amazon.com, on the check-out page, the Credit didn’t show. Had to contact Amazon via chat to get the $10 promotional credit manually issued.

I had a similar experience as some of the previous comments above:

Once I knew I was eligible, I clicked on one of the animated Happy Birthday cards and it wouldn’t let me add the card to my cart. So I kept trying and on a later attempt, the website loaded to a generic Amazon gift card design, I picked that and processed the order.

Placed the order last night, received $10 promo credit email this AM.

FWIW – Amazon won’t apply this credit to an eligible order if you have previously added promo credits that are unused. At the checkout page, I saw a $4.99 Dash Promotion credit applied instead of the $10.

I’m aware of the “https://www.amazon.com/norushcredits” page to check no-rush shipping credits. Is there a similar page to check all outstanding promotion credits and their expiration dates?

Thanks.

I appear to be eligible, but it will not allow me to add the card to my cart or purchase. When clicked, it just refreshes the page.

I had the same problem at first. I retried it 3 more times, and it finally went through. So just keep trying I guess.

Today, it says the offer has ended. Oh well. How lame.

I have a targeted account, but I’m not able to buy the gift card. When I click “add to cart” or “buy now” on the gift card page, it goes back to the gift card page, and nothing is added to my cart.

Try clicking on the basic white amazon card. Be sure “text message” as the delivery option is selected, then add to card. I did 10x $5 cards and it did not add it at times, but I just reentered info and hit add to cart after these steps and it worked. I just received my code this morning, and I did this late evening, Sept 26.

Others may want to see if they are now eligible because I believe I was not when this was posted (sept 20) but I became eligible at some point.

For clarity, by “the code” I mean The $10 promo code via email from amazon. The GC’s obviously came via text to myself, and were annoying to copy/paste into a document to save. But not much effort for $10.

I have not received $10 automatically, but got the credit after a phone call to Amazon.
I also spotted $25 off $50 purchase when you use AMEX MR points deal on the checkout page. It was nice to see that deal, especially since I used it only a few month ago.

On a computer, it appeared I was eligible but on my phone App, it said the offer had ended.

Safe to assume that if we click on the link to the offer and it says “Enjoy this exclusive Gift Cards offer:” that means we are eligible? Can someone tell us what the link shows if you’re not eligible? I’m a little concerned about getting the credit since it says, “Important Notification: This offer is valid ONLY to eligible customers who are the recipient of this offer (either via email or on Amazon.com).”
