Chase Fairmont Is Not Having New Benefits Added

On November 22nd we reported that the Chase Fairmont was having five new benefits added, this was because cardholders received an e-mail stating that this would be the case. A Chase media representative contacted me, to let me know that this e-mail was sent out in error. You can view the e-mail I received below:

I hope all is well. I’m reaching out as I wanted to note a couple clarifications to your most recent post on the Fairmont Credit Card. The email communication you referenced in the piece mistakenly noted the below Visa Benefits:

  • Visa Signature Discount Air benefit
  • Priority Pass Select airport lounge membership
  • Global entry application fee statement credit
  • Airline incidental fees statement credit

These were mistakenly included in that email communication. We apologize for this and I wanted to be sure you had accurate information.

The current card benefits are as follows:

  • Visa Concierge
  • Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver – Primary
  • Extended Warranty
  • Purchase Protection
  • Roadside – Dispatch Service
  • Travel Accident Insurance – Up to $500,000 Common Carrier and Up to $100,000 Door to Door
  • Travel and Emergency Assistance Services
  • Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption Insurance

I also asked if a follow up e-mail was sent out to cardholders to let them know this e-mail was sent out in error and whether they would be compensated for this error. I did not receive a response from Chase on either of these questions. It might be worth asking for compensation if you paid the annual fee on this card between when the original e-mail was sent out and now and paid it on the basis of these new benefits being added, although I doubt you’ll have much success.

It seemed unusual that these benefits were being added given the low annual fee on this card, but in all honesty none of the benefits were that amazing.
