The Fine Print

  • Valid 11/2/15 – 12/31/15
  • Limit one $15 statement credit per customer or card account (if you have two completely separate Freedom accounts, I imagine you can do this twice)
  • Allow 1 to 2 billing cycles until $15 credit shows up
  • Your card account must remain open and not be in default to receive the statement credit
  • Statement credit cannot be processed if your card number expires or changes while statement credit is pending
  • You may be issued an Internal Revenue Service Form 1099 (or other appropriate form) that reflects the value of such reward
  • Offer valid for existing Visa Checkout accounts or for new Visa Checkout accounts

Our Verdict

This is a free money deal. You can buy:

Remember to go through a portal for Newegg purchases, hopefully the portal will work for gift card purchases on Newegg.

The last time they offered this it was with CSP and they didn’t require a minimum $15 purchase. Looked like they wizened up this time which means that you won’t be able to buy $.50 game codes from Newegg to trigger this offer.

The CSP offer was so much quicker. Not holding my breath on this one.

CHASE said I was NOT eligible for the $15. Here is their message:

“Thank you for contacting Chase about the Visa Checkout
offer.

In order to receive this offer, your Chase Freedom account
had to be directly marketed for it. We do not show your
account was directly marketed for this offer. Questions
regarding this, you may call Visa at 1-855-847-2032.

If you need any other assistance, you can send us a secure
message. We appreciate your business and thank you for
choosing Chase.

Sincerely”

Is there a way to see if I already used the $15 with Visa Checkout

I did this offer on the 12th and called Chase about it and they said if the offer isn’t on my account I don’t qualify for it. Which means I won’t be getting the statement credit.

Can you explain what you mean by “if the offer isn’t on my account”. I just read the terms and it doesn’t appear to be targeted. I haven’t attempted the offer yet though.

I would tell you to call up Chase and ask them if your account qualifies for this offer, before you try it. I bought a $25 gift card through staples.com using Visa Checkout because of this offer. Instead I could have bought the same card through amazon and gotten 5% off using my discover or chase card.

This is only a 1 dollar difference in cash back, no big deal. I only did it because I thought I was going to get 15 dollars back. It’s not a huge risk or anything.

From what I was hearing from the Customer Service Person, your account has to reflect this offers availability to actually get the $15 statement credit. They could just be telling me incorrect information, but I was put on hold for a minute while he looked up information.

Hey Doc – Just bought a $15 gift card and used the Visa Checkout link. Will give an update if I get the credit.

Since it’s November, it may be worth noting that you can also donate to the Movember Foundation using Visa Checkout. The easiest way to donate would be on someone’s page who is running a donation drive, i.e. by growing a mustache (here is my page, as an example: http://mobro.co/vangos).

You can make a donation that will go to a good cause of exactly $15 and receive your $15 statement credit. Even better, until December 6 VISA will match up to $25 of your first donation when using Visa Checkout (up to $1 million total).

That went pretty smooth. Just like the Amex one a few months ago. Just hope I get the credit.

I signed up to Visa Checkout and bought a $25 eBay gift card. I received no confirmation so hopefully I will receive the credit on my statement.

how about authorized users? are they eligible if the main owner doesn’t use the offer?
