The Offer
The amazing 5% discount on 5 Back Visa gift cards via GiftCardMall has returned, unfortunately $500 gift cards are no longer available and the maximum denomination is only $100.
Our Verdict
Obviously not the same deal as before when it was insanely profitable, still negative cost Visa gift cards if you can get the portal cash back to track correctly. Hopefully the $500’s will come back in stock, make sure you follow us on Twitter as I’ll update you if they do.
Keep in mind the following:
- These cards earn 5% back on select retailers
- Topcashback & SimplyBestCoupons (my referral link) are both offering 1.25% cash back on Visa gift cards purchases. Everybody has been earning 2% rather than 1.25% but YMMV.
- GiftCardMall has a history of canceling orders for no real reason

2.3% cash back from Frugal on this FIVE back card?
500 Denominations are available again but can not add to the card. Anyone have the same issue ?
Works for me
Anyone have any data points on how long it takes for the 5% to post after using the card at CVS? Would appreciate it.
Tried to get 2000 when the 500’s were available but got canceled. The Simon Mall deal this past weekend was better, although I have no minimum spend I need to meet and nothing better than a 2% card, I will probably wait to get these during NBA all star break.
Did anyone actually get an order fulfulled with the extra 5% off? I successfully placed a couple of orders for FiveBacks with GCM before they announced this offer, and those orders were fulfilled. But once they offered the promo, my orders were rejected. Using Chrome Incognito, I was able to place orders for myself and my wife, but those orders were cancelled 2 days later without explanation.
Very bizarre that a company that sells gift cards wants to offer promotions but not actually sell any gift cards. I’d love to know what the deal is with this company.
I placed two orders and both went through. Just got the first order in the mail (one $500 card). The second order was for $1500 (3 x $500). I don’t think the portal (TCB) tracked the first one, though. Went through Yazing for the second, and the credit is pending.
Another word of caution – I ordered $3k of the $500 cards and they were supposed to ship on Friday. After not receiving a tracking number today I called and apparently the order was lost in their system and all they can do it refund the order.
$25, $50 , $100 back in stock!
I don’t see a promo applied to these, however…?
My first order with them seems to be going ok. I successfully checked out and I received an order confirmation. Are there any DP’s of orders being cancelled after GCM sends an order confirmation? For those who will ask, the order was (6) $500 cards and paid with Ink Preferred.
I could place the two orders of $500 & $1000 without any issue 2 hrs back. I want to know what is the limit for VGC on GCM for single day. I have to buy few more but I want to make sure that I do not get blocked.
Te $500 cards are indeed available, and the promo still applies. Problem remains, I can’t get a transaction to work directly with giftcardmall. (even though I’ve done lots of business with them via kroger.com and staples) Have tried different browsers, different accounts, different computers….. have been on hold waiting to talk to a gcm human being….. no luck. Keep getting this mindless (paypal like) error message after placing the order:
“This transaction was not completed. The transaction was not submitted correctly, or has been declined by your card issuer. You can try again with a different card or review your payment information for any necessary corrections.”
Problem isn’t with the cc company. (they tell me the order was ok — but that the merchant — gcm, cancelled the order.) Can’t get through customer service phone line #’s. Frustrating !
Same for me.
After a half hour wait on hold, ended being transferred to an order specialist….. and he could actually see the orders I’d attempted, saw the credit card I’d attempted to use, confirmed that there was no problem with the card — but that “our computer” cancelled the order. (but he had NO IDEA WHY — er, or none that he was willing to tell me)
He DID tell me he had put notes on the account and order, that all was ok… and encouraged me to try the order again.
Waited 15 minutes — and nope, no luck.
So damned frustrating — reminds me of PayPal (only worse)
Let me know if you get any luck
Same here
