The Offer
- Kroger stores are offering 4x fuel points on gift cards this weekend from 5/26/17 to 5/28/17. Unlimited use.
The standard deal at Kroger is 2x fuel points on gift card purchases, and they’ll occasionally release offers like this one to get 4x fuel points. Login to your online account to find the coupon at your local store and load it to your card.
All third-party gift cards seem to be included in this offer, but not Kroger gift cards. Should work on fixed-denomination prepaid Visa/MC/Amex gift cards too.
Usually, every 1000 fuel points will get you a discount of $1 per gallon with a 35-gallon limit, a max value of $35 per 1000-points. (These details do vary by store and region.) If you buy $250 in gift cards and max out the 35-gallons, it’ll end up a 14% discount on the gift cards.
Our Verdict
Nice that they make this deal on the weekend since you can get double fuel points on weekends this summer on non-gift card purchases too. Remember to max out your Chase Freedom 5x grocery by the end of June.
There are also a number of other gift card deals at Kroger currently which can be found here (sort by Gift Cards).
You can also get free cell phone service with Kroger when you earn fuel rewards points.
Hat tip to Slickdeals and Milestomemories
I got 2 visa variables and i dont see any points
points. But the receipt shows the e coupon. How long does it take to load up to my rewards? Did it this morning.
this is BS i just called Kroger and they won’t give me the fuel points, saying that it doesn’t matter that neither Amex/Visa/MC would ever let you get 4x fuel points (fixed or variable?)
Points are not awarded on variable-load cards, as noted in the post.
Couldn’t get this to work on $500 variable load visa at service desk. Did buy another item in same purchase.
The variable load visa or mc doesn’t work. It has to be the fixed amount card. I made a mistake and got 0 points for my first purchase.
Just as an added bonus, if you add the 4x fuel points to your Kroger account, there is also a double 2x fuel points for this weekend. The great thing is that it stacks! I got $300 in Mastercard GCs and got 2400 points (8x points)!!! So if you like the $1 savings on gas, you may want to “stack up” this weekend!
God bless
Not really 8x points, at least not at my Kroger. I just purchased $100 and got only 400 points.
i must apologize and retract my statement
After I initially logged into my Kroger account it had 2400 points from the purchase of $300. Later that evening I used 1000 of the points when I filled up my tank at Kroger. The next day I checked my points balance prior to making another purchase and my balance was 200 remaining from that purchase. So apparently, Kroger made an adjustment/correction overnight to my balance. I made another purchase today to test if it would give 8x fuel points, but it was indeed only 4x.
I sincerely apologize for my excitement to share something with the forum, that wound up not being accurate. It was not my intention to mislead.
Has anyone obtained the points at one store (i.e. Kroger) and used them at another store ( say Fred Meyer for instance)? Me and my family are going out west for a road trip out west (CO, MT, WY, WA, UT) for a few weeks and I want to stock up and use these for cheaper gas during June.
I have a Fry’s card from Arizona, and my account number worked at Ralph’s in California for groceries, I did not try using it for gas though.
I have frys in Arizona and have accumulated gas points. My friend in MI uses it at the kroger regularly. So it should work in a different chain of stores but still owned by Kroger..
I meant to say my friend in MI uses my gas points regularly even though I accumulated them at Fry’s grocery store in AZ
I shop at Fred Meyer in Oregon and my dad uses the fuel points at Kroger in Illinois.
Thank you for the info. I’m gonna stock up on points this weekend.
I do this all the time. Look for King Scoopers, Smiths, Loaf n Jug, etc. If you have somewhere for fuel cans, like a pickup bed, then you can maximize the whole trip.
In addition to Kroger Stores, its groceries include Cala Foods, City Markets, Copps, Dillons, FoodsCo, Fred Meyer Stores, Fry’s, King Soopers, Mariano’s Fresh Market, Metro Market, Pick ‘n Save, Quality Food Centers (a.k.a. QFC), Ralphs, Food 4 Less, and Smith’s Food and Drug.
Also owns Barclay, Fox’s, Fred Meyer, and Littman jewelers, and Kwik Shop, Loaf ‘N Jug, and Quik Stop convenience stores.
When will Roundys stores join the official Kroger family and stop being horribly mismanaged as a separate company?
