The main website of Paypal Digital Gifts is down for the past few days. Even PPDG on eBay is showing no items available in their store.
If you go to a specific item from PPDG on eBay (example), it shows a message that:
This seller is currently away until Aug 31, 2016, and is not processing orders at this time. You can add this item to your watch list to purchase later.
What’s even weirder is that they just sent out an email promotion yesterday for iTunes gift cards at 15% off. The link in the email just errors out.
Even worse: you can’t access your gift cards previously ordered by clicking the gift card link in the email as usual. We’ll have to wait until the site is fixed. Crazy.
It seems they’ll be away on eBay until September, and probably the same for their main website.
Hopefully, they’re working on improving their IT to give a smoother experience. And hopefully, they are NOT recoding the website to stop it from earning 5x with INK.

two $100 gift cards purchased june 2016 had a zero balance when I tried to use them now. I called the customer service number above and after about 10 minutes was refunded the full amount.
My Sears gift cards, which I purchased back in December 2015, was used by some people. The first Sears gift card was used online by Marc Cohen in California with order number 093001170698 on October 15, 2016. The second one was kind of weird, the first transaction was in Kmart for $4.47 on October 16, 2016, the second transaction was online with a buyer named Jodi in Ohio and shipped it to Cory in Indiana with order number 093001161729. The last transaction on the second gift card was on October 17, 2016, with order number 093001220382 in Florida.
I talked to Paypal supervisor and they won’t do anything. They said they are not being hacked and the information from this website is not reliable.
They refused to refund my Sears gift cards, which I purchased on December 17, 2015. Interestingly that both of the gift cards were used on October 15 and 16.
There’s a scam/data breach possibly with Paypal. People’s gift cards are being hacked and used. I had a $100 Best Buy card, tried to use it today on my Birthday and found it was used at a Best Buy in a totally different state than me.
I am really worried about my gc, I have 3 $100 not used yet and there were all showing redeemed. I hope they can solve this asap and get my gc back ….

Hi guys – with the site back up, has anyone been having issues that their iTunes Gift Cards have already been redeemed? I went into the site today and pulled up a purchase i made but did not redeem last month. When i tried to redeem it on iTunes it said “this gift card has already been redeemed”. Saw a similar comment from someone on twitter.

I have same issue. Any one know should I contact Paypal or Apple? I don’t think apple would give me a damn. It’s obviously Paypal’s problem.
Opened a dispute case on eBay and got full refund about two days later.

this is seriously the END. I am going to just simply STOP using this crappal paycrap altogether CRAP piece of shit and dissuade EVERYONE I know to do the same, if they value their money. this piece of crap of a company is just beyond horrendous and they seriously should NOT exist with this kinda garbage.
I know you guys like to look at ebay and paypal as the same company, but I honestly don’t think that is truthfully the case anymore. Yes, ebay and paypal were very much tied together in the past, but the more I buy from them, the more I believe they are growing further apart. I once had a member of the ebay team (unknowingly to them) put a bypass on my account so that I could go beyond the common limits paypal had in place through ebay because I had so much trouble at checkout. That occurrence was followed shortly after by seeing paypal reject sales that ebay approved. Paypal is still eBay’s identification verification system, that I know for certain; but beyond that, paypal seems to become more and more like a simple Payment Processor to ebay. My account was recently Permanently Limited by Paypal and they also did it to my girlfriend and business account with no warning one day… I was transferred between every dept they have just about that is public facing and all of them said the same thing “there is nothing we can do”. So I sent a certified USPS letter to the CEO upon a significant amount of digging to get a good address, and was later contacted by their corporate office (direct line to someone that works there). They told me that it was because I was using too many ebay gift cards… I had to send a lot of documentation and explain why I buy so much and by that point, I did not have anything to lose, so did everything they asked and later my accounts and my girlfriends were unlocked. The only stipulation to unlocking everything was they said no more buying GC with a GC on ebay. So I haven’t really done it much since then. The thing is when I was on the phone with the different departments and the corporate office, I asked a lot of questions, because by that point I ran out of give a f**k’s and the more and more I talked with them the more it led me to think they are just about totally separate. The fact that PPDG is down seems like the tip of the ice burg anymore. I sincerely believe that something is brewing. At first, I thought ebay was basically making a new paypal or replacing it with something else, but now I am not sure what is happening. e-giftcards are disappearing, new looking ebay cards are coming into stock at where I buy them locally that look different, GC terms are changing over night and being enforced quickly… Someone has to have lit some kind of a fire under them both because they have made more changes in the last 6-8 months than they have in the last few years combined… Hopefully it gets better and PPDG is just down for maint… I just thought I would post my observations since I have been dealing with… Read more »
