The Fine Print
- The offer is available only to the person who has registered and is non-transferable. (as mentioned before this was advertised on their FB page, so it doesn’t seem to be targeted)
- $300 bonus offer may not be combined with any other offer, does not apply if you have or had a Regions checking account on or after August 1, 2016, only applies to personal LifeGreen checking accounts, and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
- To earn this bonus, you must meet all requirements of the offer described above within 60 days of opening your new account.
- If earned, the bonus will be issued within 120 days of meeting these requirements, and will be in the form of a credit to the new checking account, which must be open at the time the credit is issued.
- All LifeGreen checking accounts require a $50 minimum opening deposit.
- For accounts opened in Iowa, certain account fees are subject to Iowa State Tax of 6%, which will be assessed at the time the fee is charged, unless exempt. Taxes are the responsibility of the recipient. Regions associates are not eligible.
Avoiding Fees
There is an early account closure fee of $25 if you close your account within 180 days of account opening. There are four checking accounts that are currently offered, but there are only two that should be really considered. You can compare all four by clicking here.
LifeGreen Checking $8-$10 Monthly Fee
This account can have it’s monthly fee removed if you do any of the following:
- Have an average monthly balance of $1,500 or more
- Receive a single qualifying direct deposit of $500 or more per cycle
- Receive cumulative direct deposits of $1,000 or more per cycle
LifeGreen eAccess Account $8-10 Monthly Fee
This account can have it’s monthly fee waived if you make 10 or more Regions card purchases per cycle
Referral Bonus $50
There is also a referral bonus you can receive in addition to this $300 bonus (bringing the total to $350). This has worked in the past, but it is no guarantee to work this time around.  You need to mention the full name and e-mail address of the person who refers you to get this bonus (they’ll also receive a $50 bonus). Reader [email protected] let us know about this bonus, so feel free to e-mail them to get their referral information.
Our Verdict
There has been a $300/$350 bonus before, but the location restrictions were much stricter. This seems to be open to their full 15 state footprint. I’d recommend reading through our previous posts about them if you have any questions as they might be answered there.
Honestly this is an awesome bonus and easily one of the best checking bonuses currently available. I don’t expect this too last long, so I’d recommend signing up sooner rather than later if you’re interested. For now please don’t share your referrals in the comments, I’d like to get confirmation that this is actually working for this bonus first.

Well Regions made it right and I got my $300 deposit. Only had a voicemail from the rep saying they’d resolved the issue, so I have no idea whether marketing or the branch paid it.
Lotta work, but a bonus is a bonus!
So 120 days passed since the date of what I considered to be my final qualifying activity for the promotional bonus, so I sent a SM asking if they could tell me if there was a reason my bonus had not been paid (I’d previously confirmed that the promo code was attached to my account).
I received a call today from a representative who was investigating my ticket and she explained that the reason my bonus was not paid out was that I was not a “new customer” as required. To review, when I opened this account in a branch, the person who assisted me discovered me in her system – and I realized that she had discovered my father’s account (we share the same name), and I remembered then that I had been added as a co-signer 24 years ago when my mother died, for legal reasons in case my father also passed away (thankfully he still lives). The in-branch rep didn’t seem to think it would matter then. Well it obviously mattered. I’ve never considered it to be a joint-account, but I guess the bank did.
The lady on the phone said that Marketing would not pay the $300 bonus under these circumstances, but she was going to contact the branch to explain the situation and told me that if I did receive an exception in this case to be paid the bonus, that the branch would have to pay it (which I don’t expect them to agree to do ;/. She said she would call back with the results in a few days. Otherwise, she confirmed that I had met all the requirements of the promotional offer.
J.M.,
Sorry you didn’t get the $300 bonus. The in-branch rep should have contacted Marketing to ensure you qualify for the bonus before opening the account. What a waste of time and energy! Wish you the best luck with other banks. Take care, Eduardo.
Well it’s been 120 days since I felt like I fulfilled the requirements and still no bonus.
Now I’m stuck keeping the account open because I’m waiting on the AT&T Cash back deal that I will probably not get either.
First failed bank bonus for this guy. :/
Mine just posted today 5/3 for the $300.
What day did you satisfy all the requirements? Thanks!!

This morning, my wife also got her $400 bonus…
$300 bonus posted this AM. Description is “marketing reward marketing”
Had almost given up on this one.
Good to hear you got your bonus.
When did you open the account? Did you contact them to upgrade to the $400 bonus?
Still waiting for both me and my wife’s accounts opened on 1/17/2017 and 1/20/2017.
Opened account on 1/11. Met requirements on 1/27.
No, I stuck with the $300 bonus instead of trying for the $400.
thanks for the info.
Same for me — met requirements ~2.5 months ago.
Still hoping it comes through. Is everyone still doing the 10 debits per month to keep account fee free?
