$10 Amazon.com Credit When You Change Your 1-Click Payment Settings To A Citi Credit Card

This offer is back and now valid until May 19th, 2015.

Contents

The Offer

  • Receive $10 in Amazon.com credit when you change your 1 click payment setting to a Citi credit card. Here’s how: [Update: another option people have reported success with is to simply e-mail or chat with Amazon and request it. Thanks to Dustin in the comments for reminding me about this option]
    • Use a mobile device
    • Log into your Amazon.com account
    • Click this link [Note: if this doesn’t work, try going to Amazon.com and refreshing the page several times and you should eventually see a banner promotion for this offer.] [Update: This link likely doesn’t work for this offer, if you get it to show please share in the comments]
    • Click change your 1 click payment settings
    • Change your payment settings to a Citi credit card and confirm
    • A $10 discount will automatically appear on your next purchase, products must be sold and shipped by Amazon.com and you must pay using your linked Citi credit card

The Fine Print

  • Credit must be used by October 19, 2014 at 11:59pm PT 11:59 PM PT on May 19, 2015.
  • Credit can be used over multiple orders if they are under $10
  • Excludes Gift Cards, Kindle eBooks, instant videos, MP3s, and all other digital downloads and content
  • This deal has been offered before, some people have been able to get it to credit twice whilst others haven’t. It likely depends if you changed your 1 click payment setting to a non-citi card in the mean time, but this is speculation only.

Our Verdict

This is an easy $10, if you have a Citi card this is an absolute no brainer. I missed out on this last time it was available, so I am glad I could get it this time. Free amazon credit is always a good thing as far as I am concerned. Let me know if you had any successes in the comments.

Got it! It just randomly appeared, so I quickly moved from the mobile app to the safari app to pull my Citi card from my one click setting. I then went back to the app and followed the links where in which I was asked to select a Citi card. I selected one and then tested it out to see if the credit applied. It was there immediately.
Sweet!. Be patient and it appears that it cannot be forced. It will either show or it won’t.

No luck on my end. I tried multiple mobile devices and signing in versus not signing in, and in the end nothing ever appeared.

It worked for me. But a question: “Purchase must be made using a valid Citi Consumer credit card as payment method”. I only have a Citibusiness AA card right now. Canceled my AA executive and AA Platinum a while ago. Is the business version a Consumer credit card?

It didn’t work. So I called the customer service, they couldn’t find this promotion either. Finally I asked if they could just give me that $10.00 promotional certificate without the promotion, the answer is yes, and it went through in 2 mins. I probably should have suggested that in the beginning so that I could save some waiting time.

Worked on mine and my wife’s account from android phone. My account it showed up after a few refreshes, on wife’s account it wouldn’t show up for anything. I then went in and added my citi aa exec card to payment options under her account. First time loading page after that I got the banner and could then change the 1 click options for the credit. It didn’t tell me congrats like it did on my own account, but when I went back to the home page, I saw the banner again. As soon as I clicked it this time, it went straight to a congrats on the $10 page.

Can I use both my citi cards to get a total of $20 credit?

It worked for me moments ago on an iPhone (in the browser). I had to refresh the page about 20 times, but got the banner ad right in the middle of the page. I hit it and got an Citi page saying to add a Citi card for 1-click purchases. I hit the link, then tried to add a card. It gave me a message telling me the card wasn’t valid for the promotion (or something like that), but it’s a Citi Double Cash card. I verified that the number I had entered was right and it was. Finally, I logged into my account from a Mac and added the card manually. Then, on my iPhone, I went back (to the page with the offer) and selected the link again, but I didn’t get to the same page. I think I got a menu this time. One of the options down the page was 1-click settings. I selected it, then set my Citi bank card for 1-click. I didn’t get a message telling me that it was successful or anything. Finally, I went back to the main amazon page and got the banner ad again immediately. I selected it, and got a page that showed this: “Thank you. A credit of $10 off your next purchase of qualifying products sold and shipped by Amazon.com has been applied to your account. To redeem this offer, use your Citi card to make a qualifying purchase by 11:50 p.m. PT on May 19, 2015.”

Typo: 11:59 p.m., not 11:50. 🙂

I had the same experience as Paul, followed his steps precisely, and got the same result: “Thank You. A credit of $10 off . . . has been applied to your account.” Thank you, Paul.

Usually, the easiest way to get the offer-if you aren’t targeted- is by emailing Amazon after placing the order. I’m 2 for 2. Of course, YMMV.
