Our Verdict

eBay has been ramping up the promotions lately which is great to see (they are also laying off workers and reporting losses). 10% on both buying and selling is terrific, though I’d guess a lot of people did all the shopping they needed with the other deals that went on this week. It’s still a great deal for selling.

There’s also a promotion for 20% off at hundreds of sellers on eBay promotion going on through July 21st with promo code PRIMO which stacks beautifully with this offer.

Just a warning on the selling offer, I got the offer in June and then never got the ebay bucks at the end of the quarter, I ended up having to spend over 6 hours on the phone with customer service over a 3 week period before I finally got $268 out of $293 (I decided it wasn’t worth the time to fight over the last $25)

I was expecting around $120 and only got $90. I figured dealing with customer service would be an ordeal and decided against it, especially since it doesn’t break out which sales earned the bucks and which didn’t..

On the bright side I feel like one of the April selling promotions had a typo in it where it said you could *list* over 10 days (vs the 10-day sales window) and they might have honored it:

*Users who list eligible items between ‍5‍:‍0‍0‍A‍M‍ PT on ‍A‍p‍r‍i‍l‍ ‍1‍9‍, ‍2‍0‍1‍8‍, and ‍1‍1‍:‍5‍9‍P‍M‍ PT ‍A‍p‍r‍i‍l‍ ‍2‍9‍, ‍2‍0‍1‍8‍ (the “Selling Earn Period”), will also be eligible for the promotional offer. Must sell items by ‍A‍p‍r‍i‍l‍ ‍2‍9‍, ‍2‍0‍1‍8‍ to earn ‍e‍B‍a‍y‍ Bucks worth 8% of the total sales price—up to $100. Rewards will be deposited into an ‍e‍B‍a‍y‍ Bucks account by ‍J‍u‍n‍e‍ ‍3‍0‍, ‍2‍0‍1‍8‍.*

Yeah, I was shortchanged a few $ from the Q2 offer. But since they don’t itemize it, seems painful to try to dispute it.

And for today’s 10% offer, the fine print for selling says 8% lol

Any idea how strictly do they enforce that targeted language?
