$10 off $100 American Express Gift Card at Safeway, Vons, Randall’s, & Tom Thumb (Just4U)

The Offer

Sign into your Just4U account to see if you got the following coupon which can be loaded to your J4U card:

  • Get $10 off $100 American Express gift card purchase

The Fine Print

  • Limit 1 per household
  • Valid through 6/20/17

Our Verdict

You can currently get $10 off $100+ Visa gift card as well, might as well do both of these deals at the same time. Should also work on $500 gift cards as well, make sure you use a card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases.

My coupon re-appeared. I tried using it for both fixed and variable American Express gift cards and it wouldn’t work.

Mine, too! Haven’t tried using it, yet. Used it the original time, and noticed it’s now added back to my account, ready to use, supposedly.

Let me know if it works, please. It’s a little ways out of the way for me and I don’t want to waste my time. Thanks!

I tried yesterday, but the variable AMGC didn’t work out,
they did not have the fixed $100 one, so I don’t know if that will work

Amex gift cards don’t have PINs. They can’t be used as debit cards, only spent down where regular credit cards can be used.

My cashier had to manually enter the Just4U coupon this morning (and with a different Vons card at a different store, manually enter for a variable Amex–tho not sure which part caused it not to work).

Worked at Safeway. Discount shows when the cashier hits the total button. 5.95 purchase fee for the $100

Can you buy MO with Amex gift cards at Kroger stores? (Kroger stores that still accept vgc for mo)

Sometimes these offers are tricky. The VISA offer said “$100 OR MORE”, and I did indeed get the $10 off $500 variable card. No fuel points. The AMEX offer says “$100” which suggests you only buy that specific denomination but will get the fuel points since it’s fixed. Will wait for datapoints to see if the offer applies to higher denominations.

Or you could be the data point for the rest of us ….

With VISA, you can liquidate to MO right away, so, getting a higher denomination for more points makes perfect sense.

With AmEx, unless you’re doing the Venmo route, it’d probably make more sense to go lower denomination if you have subsequent plans of converting them into VGC/MCGC.
