10% in eBay Bucks
There’s also a targeted offer which many have received (including myself) to be able to get 10% back in eBay Bucks on 3/25-3/26. That could make a great combination with this Sears offer.
Also remember that there are lots and lots of other gift cards on sale on eBay, which we wrote about yesterday.
Our Verdict
These are great for Sears/Kmart purchases. It could also be an arbitrage opportunity, except that these are e-gift cards which are harder to liquidate.
If you didn’t get targeted with the 10% eBay Bucks, it may or may not be worth it to buy in order to resell. If you did get the 10% targeted offer, then this Sears deal and some of the gift cards we mentioned yesterday can become profitable resale material.
Of course I already bought a few gift cards yesterday with the regular 2% eBay Bucks. Oh well, I’ll have to make some more purchases today to take advantage of the bonus eBay Bucks Offer.
Deal Scenario
- Pay $170 for $200 in Sears gift cards.
- Resell them to giftcards.com for $169 or to CardCash for $158. Net loss of either $1 or $12.
- Pay with INK for 5x (hopefully). Net 850 UR points.
- Go through portal for 1.5%, or $2.55.
- Get 10% back in eBay Bucks, or
$10.70$17
All told, you’ll profit $18.55 plus 850 UR points under the giftcards.com scenario. And $7.55 plus 850 points under the CardCash scenario.
There are lots of other options using the other gift cards on sale currently, such as Jiffy Lube and Applebee’s.
