AirBnB Officially Acquires Luxury Retreats – Adds 4,000 New Properties & $150 Million In Booking Revenue

Earlier this month we shared that AirBnB was on the cusp of purchasing Luxury Retreats. That deal is now official with AirBnB securing the deal despite higher bids from Accor & Expedia. Luxury Retreats has inventory for 4,000 properties around the world and does $150m in yearly bookings compared to AirBnB’s $3bn.

Luxury Retreats aren’t joking when they say they have luxury properties, for example one listing is Chateau Petit Versailles with 14 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms a pool and rents for a cool $27,212 per night.

The margins for luxury properties such as these are significantly better than AirBnB normally makes. In addition Luxury Retreats have a concierge service that AirBnB we keen to offer across their platform. If $27,212 a night seems excessive, don’t forget existing users can get $50 off by completing your first AirBnB business stay.

Airbnb is always more expensive for the same property found somewhere else.
