Amazon Lightning Deals: 20% Off Giftcards (IHOP, Fandango & Petco)

• Amazon have a number of gift cards on sale for 20% off, these sell out quickly so you need to make sure you’re ready to purchase them when the deals go live. I’ve put the time they go live in EST next to each deal, keep in mind these are the times they go live for Prime Members, non prime go live 30 minutes later (usually sold out). All cards are $50 for $40 unless otherwise noted, I’ve put the resale rates in brackets as well:
  • IHOP goes live at 7:59PM 12/26 (75%)
  • Petco goes live at 8:34PM 12/26 (60%)
  • Fandango (72%) goes live at 8:39PM 12/26
  • Destination Maternity goes live at 12:59PM 12/27  (60%)

Make sure you stack the offer with some of the following:

• Might be possible to use the Amazon Assistant $5 off $25
• Use a discounted Amazon gift card, or a credit card that earns at a high rate at Amazon:
  • Regular cards that earn up to 5% cash back on a year round basis

  • Discover it offering 5% cash back this quarter, doubled if it’s your first year
  • Blue Cash Everyday & Blue Cash Preferred offering 10% cash back for new cardholders on up to $2,000 in purchases

Some of the deals become profitable when you throw in one of those 15% or 20% discounts listed above, otherwise they don’t really make sense from a resale perspective. Fingers crossed Amazon continue to offer discounted gift cards now that the busy shopping season has ended.
