Amazon Music Unlimited 4 Months for $.99 [New Members Only], $4 Money Maker With Chase Offer

Update 10/13/20: Offer ends at 11:59pm PT on October 14th.

Update 10/1/20: Just a small update – the $5 back deal is available for some on Bank Amerideals as well. (Likely other banks too.)

Update 9/30/20: Deal is available again. There is also a Chase offer for $5 back when you spend $0.99 or more, making this a $4 money maker. (Be sure to change your default card over to the applicable Chase card before signing up because there’s no checkout process or prompt to choose a card.) Non prime members only get three months and then it jumps up to $9.99 a month.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer (links in this post contain our affiliate)

  • Amazon is offering 4 months of Music Unlimited for $.99 total. After 4 months it’ll be $7.99/month.

The Fine Print

  • New Music Unlimited members only
  • Prime members only
  • Valid through 11:59pm PT January 06, 2020
  • Valid for the Individual plan only
  • Digital content and services may only be available to customers located in the U.S.

Our Verdict

A limited selection of music comes along with every Amazon Prime membership. Music Unlimited is for access to much more content. We saw the same deal in the lead up for Prime Day last year, but more recently there was a better offer for 3 months for $0.99 plus you got an Echo dot for $1. Remember to cancel before the end of the 4 months, otherwise you will be charged$7.99/month for Prime members and $9.99 for non-Prime.

Post history:

  • Update 11/13/19: This time around, it’s working for those without Prime as well.
  • Update 11/12/19: Deal is back. (Still not as good as the recent deal that had an Amazon Echo + 1 month for $8.98.)

Deal worked great for me, P2 and P3. Deals were found on Wells Fargo, BBVA and Chase cards. Nothing on B of A. Paid 99 cents on each of our Amazon accounts for the music subscription and got the $5 back on each one, pending within a few days as statement credits. All on non-Prime accounts that are not regularly used. We also went through Swagbucks/Mypoints to get another $1/200 points cashback on each transaction. All in all a $15 moneymaker. Will cancel the music subscriptions soon, didn’t use them actually.

It has been more than 30 days since my made the purchase but the cash back has not been credited. I called Bank of America 4 times and was either asked to wait for longer or the phone call was mysteriously transferred to a random clueless customer service representative. I’ve been a BoA customer for more than 10 years and today I learned how bad the BoA customer service is!

So this is officially a money loser not maker.

Not the first time I was burned by BOA; when Staples billed separately everything, obviously I got the cash back on the fking filler item.

So I signed up last Saturday and have yet to receive notification that I redeemed the offer. The charge came in from “AMZN DIGITAL”. How long have others had to wait for the offer to be processing?

Also went thru Swagbucks and didn’t hear anything from them.

I signed up with an BoA CC. The charge was also from “AMZN DIGITAL”. It’s been a week but no cash back was posted.

I don’t care about cashback posting, I care that it isn’t even showing as pending.

My charge posted on 10/12, still nothing. Still hesitating to do the Chase route, don’t want to waste another $1.12. 🙂

Signed up with BOA Cash Rewards Card and it showed up as “AMZN DIGITAL” and was pending the next day. Took about a week to post but strangely it posted on another BOA card. I know BOA offers are across all your accounts but I’ve never seen meeting the requirements on one card and rewards posting on another. Is this normal?

So you got the $5? I never did. As for where the reward posted, that is an option on the website. Maybe you have it set to go to the other card? i have it set to go to a savings account that I have at BofA.

yea, i got it luckily. I will need to look into changing it so it goes straight to BOA savings too. Thanks!

Just signed up P2… just made sure the Credit Card I wanted to charge was the default (not sure debit cards count). The charge went pending instantly. No need to delete other Amazon connected cards or ones with a rewards balance.

Chase? – Did not have a Chase offer to activate, so just did a small balance waiver card.

You can cancel right away – Not sure if it was mentioned elsewhere, but as soon as you signup, you can cancel the membership and continue to use it for the 4 months. After cancelling, on the Amazon Music settings page, it now says “Subscription Renewal – On February 14, 2021, your Unlimited subscription will not continue.”

Also worth noting, Amazon offered me (P1) a free year subscription to “Food Network Kitchen” today. I subscribed and cancelled instantly too. Not sure it will get much use but might give P2 new ideas, and we have someone to blame if the recipe fails. Worst case, the dog will eat better, ieatdogfood. Free is the best price.

You did this offer without an offer? Wouldn’t it have been better to use the small balance waiver and bank it in a gift card or some kind of free food opportunity that costs only taxes or fees? I’m penny pinching here but it’s more about the principle of not “wasting” on “free” which you may never use. Then again you noted P2 and women do women things.

The music my family does use… almost daily. Granted, Amazon Music, Spotify, and Pandora are free but ad-supported. Amazon music is a luxury at 99 cents for 4 months… well spent. Being able to yell out an artist or song, awesome.

I am not normally a Prime member and only get it on Trial (a month at a time, randomly), or rarely paid, usually around the holidays. P1 was offered a Prime trial today too, so I took them up on that as well. But that I canceled it right away, and ends in a month, so this will cover us for music until late Feb next year.

The Food Network thing, TBD, if that worth signing up, but it was free from the start.

I listen to iHeartRadio Club EDM channel during my gym sessions. The only time I listen to music other than the radio in the car. And maybe some random Tiktok snipbits.

Had I read the comments, I would have seen I could have got a $1 back in SwagSchucks. Oh well. I feel like a millionaire… throwing dollar bills away. I will be ok.

I have a dot in almost every room… including the bathroom, so I can jam in the shower.

Anyone know if Amazon mp3 songs ($1.29) trigger an Amazon Music offer? Might cash in the Chase/BoA offer, but ineligible for the trial.

Are those $1 digital credits available to be used towards paying the monthly fee, including the initial 99 cents?

Be careful about doing this if you have active promotional credits (ie prime day WF credit) – it can charge the promotional credit balance instead of the cc on file

Best to remove all other cc on file, as it can still charge a pay by points card even if you “switch” card on file to the chase/BoA card
