Amazon has partnered with Rite Aid to offer customers the ability to pick up Amazon packages in store. The new program is called Amazon Counter and will launch in 100 Rite Aid stores to begin with, with another 1,500 stores to be added by year’s end. Amazon also wants to get other retailers to join the program.
Amazon Counter will not cost customers any thing extra. Previously this program has been rolled out in Europe and Amazon has stated that there is clear evidence that the increased foot traffic to these stores increases their sales. Amazon runs a similar program but for returns with Kohl’s.
