Our Verdict

The fine print also confirms that Prime day will be October 13 – 14 as predicted. This seems like a good deal if you can find something you want from one of the small businesses. There are also some other similar offers (e.g spend $10 or more at Whole Foods and get $10 credit and in app offer as well), we will post about both of these shortly. As always Amazon deals are always better when stacked, a full list of stacking opportunities can be found here.

Coffee is one thing that is relatively plentiful in the small business area. I did a search like ‘coffee beans over $10’ and was able to narrow it down to a reasonable selection in the $10-$15 range. Promotion applied and frugalman’s sequence applied for me. I used partial GC balance and got the emails.

Thanks for all the inputs in the comments. I just placed my order and received the $10 claim email. So I think I am all set. Want to share some tips to make sure you can get the qualified items. There could be some traps:
1. You can buy from more than one small business vendors. Yes, that’s my own case, totally different nature items from two different vendors.
2. When you check out, you should see the following under the payment part. My order contains two items and I somehow saw the line words like : “Prime day rewards”, “promotion applied”, and “promotion applied”. I see K.M. mentioned similar thing in an early post.
3. My faint memory said that when I initially check out in the default shipping speed, I may only see the “promotion applied”. It was only when I select the delayed shipping (which gives me a $1 digital rewards that I saw the “prime day rewards”. I could be wrong. But anyway, what I do know is that I saw three lines as mentioned in “2” and I selected the slow shipping speed.
4. When you placed the correct order, you will almost immediately receive an Amazon email titled, “Claim your $10 credit now”, once you click the link and claim it, you will get another email very soon titled, “You just got $10 to spend on Prime Day.”
5. If you happen to mess up and didn’t do it correctly, simply cancel that order and do it again so long as you haven’t used that offer.

Correction to “2”: my bad. Now I realize the first line wording of the promotion section was “Amazon Day Reward” and it has nothing to do with the $10 Small business credit but only refers to the $1 digital rewards credit (discover this when I just placed another order).

To sum up, you only need to expect words like “Promotion applied”. If you have only one qualify item, you should see one. If you have two, you should see two. etc. Thanks.

For anyone who might be interested, I accidently found out the “Milk Tea Mix by Angel Specialty Products [3 LB]” is eligible for $10. I happened to want some milk tea powder and saw $10 promotion showing below this item. Just placed an order (single item in the order). Received email to claim $10 instantly. Other items in this store (they also sell coffee and stuff) might also work but I did not try…

I want to support small business but as someone who’s got very little money at the moment, it’s hard wanting to pay more when I could get it much cheaper somewhere else just to get a bit of discount at amazon.
