The Fine Print

  • Might be targeted due to the “invited” language
  • Valid until April 14th
  • The “3X Shop Again” bonus offer runs from 03/19/17 through 04/14/17 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”).
  • Member will earn a one-time bonus of 1500 AAdvantage® miles when Member makes at least 3 individual “qualifying purchases” of $50 dollars or more during the Bonus Period.
  • The bonus miles are in addition to the standard AAdvantage miles earned by shopping through the AAdvantage eShoppingSM mall.  “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products identified by the individual merchant. Individual merchants may have additional terms and conditions on their store details page on the AAdvantage eShoppingSM mall site, which terms and conditions will apply to this bonus offer.
  • Please see the AAdvantage eShoppingSMmall site for additional details.
  • Please allow approximately 50 days after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your AAdvantage eShoppingSM account. Void where prohibited by law.

Our Verdict

Normally these offers require a total spend rather than multiple purchases (e.g the last offer was spend $150+, get 300 miles or spend $350+ get 1,000 miles). I prefer this type of offer, but it really depends on what type of purchases you typically make. If you can purchase items that are exactly $50, then this is an extra 10x miles per $1 spent in addition to whatever you’d normally earn.

Make sure you use cashbackmonitor to compare the American Airlines portal to other shopping portals.

Just a note that it’s not exactly $50, you’ll likely have to spend slightly more, since shipping and taxes are not included:

“Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products identified by the individual merchant.

Thanks for the extra link. I was going to pass on this as it does not show when I pull up my account.. I’ll try through your link. You are the only blogger that I saw adding this link. Great work as always.

I’ll click thru the AA portal if they give me no blackout dates on saver award level on their own flights.

Targeted offer? I logged into my account and saw nothing like this. Hope it’s not targeted as I have some shopping to do anyway.

Thank for the extra details doc. I didn’t see the offer on my wife’s rarely used “bonus overflow” eshopping account either. However, while not advertised on the splash page(s) this looks legitimately applied to all shoppers. I’ll may take screenshots just in case. AA eshopping bonuses have always posted for me 8 – 10 weeks after the offer ended.
