Our Verdict
Using points for charges is always a terrible deal, even with this discount it’s still horribly bad. You’re basically getting 0.625¢ per point in value. Charles Schwab Platinum cardholders can cash out their points for 1.25¢ per point. You can also transfer points 1:1 with American Express travel partners or use American Express’ travel portal to get 1¢ per point in value. This promotion is bad, this redemption option is bad. You have been warned.
