American Express has partnered with Coachella again for 2019, this is the fifth year the two companies have partnered for this event.
General Benefits
Benefits are as follows for regular American Express cardmembers:

- Complimentary Ferris wheel ride with a friend
- Complimentary monogram embroidery on any one item in the Coachella Boutique or VIP area
- Access to American Express Card Member Club
- Eligible cardmembers will get $20 back when they spend $100+ with their enrolled card at participating merchants
Platinum Benefits
Platinum cardholders get access to the American Express Platinum house at Avalon Palm Springs. This is open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14. Each cardholder gets access for them and up to three guests. It includes
- Complimentary premium food & beverage
- Live DJ sets
Our Verdict
Last year they offered $10 off $10, this year it’s $20 back on $100 spend. Last year it was possible to do it per enrolled card, so you could effectively get $100 back on $100 spend if you had 10 cards. Still $20 back on $100 spend is useful and I imagine any readers going will be able to take advantage of it. Other benefits are OK I guess.
