Our Verdict

We just saw basically the same offers expire on January 1st, 2018. Only difference is that the business card only requires $3,000 spend instead of $4,000 this time and you have 3 months instead of 4 to meet the minimum spend requirements on both cards. The actual offer (70,000 miles + 10k MQM + $100 statement credit) is the joint highest we’ve ever seen on this card and worth considering/applying for if you have a use of Delta miles. One thing I hate about Delta is they no longer publish an award chart instead using dynamic pricing (basically just them increasing the unpublished award charts whenever they feel like with no oversight) so I’d recommend using any miles sooner rather than later.

As always if you have any questions about American Express cards, they are probably answered in this post so please read that first. For example American Express usually doesn’t match sign up bonuses, but they will offer courtesy points in most cases if you call in (secured message won’t work). I will be adding this offer to our best credit card sign up bonus page.

Looks like the American Express Delta Gold card is at 60k miles now too and the AF is waived the 1st year and it has a $50 statement credit.

I don’t see the life time language in this Deltas Platinum, anyone see it?

Yes, just below “OFFER TERMS”
Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product

Minor detail, but the offer expires on 4/11/18 according to the links.

What a perfect opportunity for someone to update the spreadsheet that doesn’t get updated nearly often enough 😛

Does anyone know of a foolproof way to check if you’ve had a particular AmEx card in the past? I’ve had quite a few over the years and can’t remember which ones. Thanks.

I think it’s 7 years and you can get the offer again.

Just called to request a sign up bonus match for my spg card I applied 2 wks ago and was offered to upgrade my existing delta business gold to platinum with 50k bonus and prorated annual fee. They also opened a ticket for my spg match request. Expect the match result in about a week. They denied my math request via chat yesterday.

I have a referral link if you’d like to use. Platinum 70k with 10k MQM, 100 statement credit on any delta purchase. Please email me at eltittydee at 3k MIN spend required APPRECIATE IT! THANKYOU!

Has there been discussion on what triggers the $100 statement credit?

Does buying a snack or drink on board trigger the $100 statement credit?

Second data point here… I purchased food on board and it triggered the statement credit for this offer.

I went with the Amex Gold personal. My biz has like 5 inquiries. I chose the 50,000 with $150 statement credit and 2K spend. Plan to pay taxes and fees for reward ticket to trigger statement credit. Looks like AMEX has been pulling from Experian for me.

I received Amex Delta Gold in December 2017. If I get approved for this one, will I still get The bonus and credit? I fly Delta every week.

if anyone wants me to use their business plat referral please email me [email removed, please only ask for and post referral links in the relevant posts]

Just sent one over! Thanks!

I have a Amex Delta Gold Card. When I click to apply for Platinum, instead of “Apply” the button says “Request an Upgrade”. Can somebody confirm if I request for an upgrade, will I still earn 70K Miles + $100 + 10k MQMs?

I couldn’t wait for a response here. Contacted Amex Cust Care via Chat. they said, login in your Amex online account and see what offer you are being shown. I did the same, Voila, I saw the same offer 70k+$100+10k. Applied online and got approval instantly.

Fingers crossed for all the three Bonuses. It would be an awesome deal.
