- American Express has increased the sign up bonus on the personal & business versions of the Delta Platinum card. Bonus is as follows:
- 70,000 miles & 10,000 MQM after $3,000 in spend within the first three months

- Card earns at the following rates:
- 2x miles on all purchases made directly with Delta
- 1x miles on all other purchases
- Receive another 10,000 MQM after you spend $25,000 or more within a calendar year and an additional 10,000 MQM when you spend $50,000 or more within a calendar year for a total of 20,000 MQM (plus the sign up bonus)
- No foreign transaction fees
- Receive a Domestic Main Cabin round-trip companion certificate each year upon renewal of your Card (Payment of the government imposed taxes and fees of no more than $75 for roundtrip domestic flights (for itineraries with up to four flight segments) is required)

Our Verdict
We just saw basically the same offers expire on January 1st, 2018. Only difference is that the business card only requires $3,000 spend instead of $4,000 this time and you have 3 months instead of 4 to meet the minimum spend requirements on both cards. The actual offer (70,000 miles + 10k MQM + $100 statement credit) is the joint highest we’ve ever seen on this card and worth considering/applying for if you have a use of Delta miles. One thing I hate about Delta is they no longer publish an award chart instead using dynamic pricing (basically just them increasing the unpublished award charts whenever they feel like with no oversight) so I’d recommend using any miles sooner rather than later.
As always if you have any questions about American Express cards, they are probably answered in this post so please read that first. For example American Express usually doesn’t match sign up bonuses, but they will offer courtesy points in most cases if you call in (secured message won’t work). I just received this offer in the mail, so I guess it’s targeted. URL is http://delta.com/70k but it has me login using my SkyMiles. They offered me 70k miles + 10k MQM + $100 bonus per the original post.
70K and $100 statement credit is back in incognito. 35K after $1K in 3 months. Then 35K more after an additional $6K in 6 months (for $7K total.)

Im going to put an end to this gift card triggering or not triggering the $100 statement debate…if it doesnt trigger the next best thing to do is book a LAX-SFO flight for $38.30 total and just not take the flight. If anyone knows of cheaper flights please add, rental cars seem to be around $40-50
DATA POINT: A day after my purchase, I received two 10k bonus miles under the “SKYMILES AMEX COBRAND CREDIT CARD BONUS”, so 20k total, anyone else receive this?
It was supposed to be a statement credit of $100 after the purchase. Are you sure these 20k Bonus miles are not a part of the 70k bonus miles? they always split the miles when crediting the Bonus miles.

i havent had a delta bonus in probably 5 years…they split the miles before the requirement is hit? seems like it wouldnt be worth it for them to do that, anyways if its not that im thinking it might be referrals for referral link.
Delta GC still working to trigger $100 statement credit. Purchased $50 Delta GC on 5/10, and received $100 statement credit on 5/12
The $100 credit applied just 1 day after the purchase posted. Delta website also does hotels, vacations, rental cars, and flights so the 2x points go a little further when you need to plan all travel. There is also a SkyMiles website where you can earn extra points through online shopping. So far, pleased with card. Going to have a go at getting status but we shall see. Also, compared delta website to generic travel booking sites, pricing stayed very competitive.
the 100 statement credit, not working, don’t believe them, i had the card in jan,2018 bought at delta.com, didn’t get credit, you acutally has to buy plane ticket to get credit.

Maybe if you don’t need that many Delta miles now, as they love to devalue the program. You can get the platinum version if you’ve had gold before.
Are personal and business considered separate products for the purposes of this promotion? ie. can I get both cards and receive two sign-up bonus, statement credit, etc?
