American Express Platinum ‘Up To 175,000 Points’ Signup Bonus

Update 6/26/25: After being hard to get for a while, the 175k offer is now the regular public offer, and might be available via referral as well. However, it now says ‘up to 175,000’. The system will tell you how much you are eligible for before you have to submit the application, and many people are being offered a lower amount.

Update 6/11/24: This 175k offer is now showing via some referral links. Hat tip to Uscreditcardguide (No sharing of referral links is allowed in the comments below.)

AMEX has been acting kind of weird, honestly. P2 still can’t get approved for an AMEX card, and we’re not sure why. I applied for the Platinum card back in February—there was no hard pull at all, and the account didn’t show up on my credit reports until May, so over three months later.https://www.doctorofcredit.com/american-express-platinum-175000-points-signup-bonus/#comment-2005216

I’m being offered 100k upgrade from Amex Green to Platinum.
It’s actually not the best deal as I had 175k upgrade offer briefly in account overview few years ago when they bumped up the AF to 695. (if I recall correctly, but I’m 100% sure it was at least 110k at the time if not 175k) Not really into coupon book as it was a hassle to “manage” all the monthly credit when I had the Platinum card…
It’s definitely YMMV but based on my spending pattern the Green card really works better for me and saved many hours each month.

Ah, now when I go to the site I see “Up to 175k points” but then you have to go through the application to see your offer. I keep getting 100k or 125k.
