American Express To Avianca Transfers Available Again

Update 2/19/19: Now possible to transfer again.

Currently it’s not possible to transfer American Express Member Rewards Points to Avianca LifeMiles, when clicking through the transfer page it says they are unavailable due to system migration and no date is given for when these transfers will be available again. From February 1st until February 5th the LifeMiles system was unavailable, so I suspect this is part of that. Yesterday they launched the new LifeMiles site, although there are still a lot of bugs and issues there.

I am having issues to transfer Citi Thank You points to LifeMiles. It was supposed to be instantaneous, but it has been so far 14 days and it is still show “in progress” in my Citi Thank You account history. I contacted Citi when had pass 7 days and Citi said just to wait for 14-15 days. I have also emailed Lifemiles 3 days ago, but no response. I guess this is still a migration issue. Anyone is having issues with Thank You transfers to LifeMiles too?

I did. And finally 3 weeks later the points posted in AV account. It should be the Citi’s issue

If Amex points are transferred to Avianca, does it extend the expiration date for existing Avianca points?

Was able to get a transfer through 4 days ago from Amex. YMMV I guess.

The transfers have not been possible since at least February 1, maybe even January 30 (can’t remember when I first saw that). Probably a good move on Amex’s part to hold off until Avianca has everything tight since people would complain to Amex if transfers aren’t going through.
