Update: This has been extended and now expires December 31st, 2016.
Currently you can get a 50% transfer points when you transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Iberia Avios, this means you can transfer 250 Membership Rewards points and receive 300 Iberia Avios.
This deal is set to expire at 11:59 p.m. CT on December 15, 2016. In our original post, I had this to say about this deal:
“British Airways are going to be combining their Iberia Plus program into their other programs in 2017 and we still don’t know what that new program will look like so I wouldn’t be transferring Membership Rewards points into Iberia Plus speculatively (e.g only do it if you have bookings you’re ready to make).”
There are also two other current transfer bonuses:
- American Express Membership Rewards: 50% Transfer Bonus To Plenti (500:750) – Get 1.5¢ Per Point: Valid until December 31st, 2016
- American Express Membership Rewards: 40% Transfer Bonus To Alitalia (1000:1400)Â Valid until December 31st, 2016
You can view a full list of past transfer bonuses by clicking here.
250 -> 300 A good way to test if the points are still frozen after Platinum application. Yes they are.
Are you sure this expires tomorrow? i’m currently looking at Amex’s website and it shows that it expires on Dec 31: “Minimum transfer is 250 Membership Rewards points. Redeem for this exclusive offer from 12:00 a.m. CT on November 15, 2016 to 11:59 p.m. CT on December 31, 2016, to receive 50% additional Avios. Additional Avios will be awarded at the time of transfer.”
Also, if I transfer points to Iberia can I then transfer those to BA to book an Aer Lingus flight?
For reference, I only have 50 Avios points in my Iberia account from a promotion on August 2015
Dang it, looks like they extended it.
