Our Verdict
Historically the transfer bonuses to Iberia have been as follows:
- December 1st – 31st, 2015: 25% bonus (was when the transfer rate had dropped to 1:0.8 but people still getting 1:1.25 after bonus being applied twice)
- September 19th – November 16th, 2011: 20% bonus
Realistically this means that this is in line (bonus in 2011) or slightly worse (last years promo that wasn’t being applied correctly) even though this is a ‘higher’ transfer bonus of 50%. British Airways are going to be combining their Iberia Plus program into their other programs in 2017 and we still don’t know what that new program will look like so I wouldn’t be transferring Membership Rewards points into Iberia Plus speculatively (e.g only do it if you have bookings you’re ready to make).
