Our Verdict

Pretty good discount if you’re usually charged $150 or more. Obviously won’t be that useful unless you already have an account as equipment and pretty much everything is excluded.

Update: Mommy Points said she received the triggered e-mail by paying a personal account. YMMV if it’ll actually work or not.

  1. Fiby says:

Interestingly, while I have a business Amex, I only got targeted one one of my personal cards (and its AU).

I wonder if this will work for a personal AT&T wireless bill. It shouldn’t by the terms but I wonder if it’ll work anyways….

  2. Chuck says:

The $50 question here is whether this works for regular consumer ATT cellular bills.

  3. Darren says:

Is there a way to buy AT&T gift cards through the site? Couldn’t find anything…

  4. Fei says:

Maybe someone has a business att bill could check whether personal and business code same.

Got it on spg personal. Main and AUs

  6. vj says:

It says need to be used at and my regular login does not work with this link.. So not sure how useful this offer can be for personal users..

  7. Todd says:

Got it on my SPG Biz as AU and on my wife’s SPG Biz. I don’t have any payments for a couple weeks so hopefully we will have some data points before I give up the 5% from my Chase Ink. My bill is not a small business bill.

  8. buschoi says:

Got it on 9 main/AUs cards. All personal. SPG, OBC, and Hilton.
Just paid the last AT&T bill 2 days ago. Will have to wait until next month to try.

    • AllenB says:

You can prepay your AT&T wireless bill at any time. You will simply have credit on your account. During the ApplePay promo using Discover I paid approximately an entire year in advance.

      • st says:

I have it on SPG Business, Any suggestion/details on getting opening new line & getting phone? (Ideally, want to get phone & disconnect service in a month or two).

      • Goosh says:

I just the $50 credit this morning after making a $150 payment on the 29th. Made one more payment. Got email. But when I tried to make another one, it said that the credit balance had to be less than $300 and the account was no longer eligible for an online payment. Thoughts?

        • Chuck says:

ATT is letting me prepay out for as long as I want. Not sure why you are getting that message.

          • Todd Pratt says:

I receive the same message when I try to go beyond $300 in credit balance. I have 3 more $150 charges that I will use up in one month. Today, I discovered the offer available on another account that wasn’t there a month ago, so I would like to maximize the $450 in charges, but won’t be able to online before 12/1/16. I will try what another person suggested by calling in.

  9. David says:

I know people are getting the email, but has anybody gotten the credit?

  10. mattlaw says:

Anyone tried to pay at a kiosk?

  11. Abel says:

Has anybody tried this for prepaid?

  12. magee2day says:

I have already got the $50 credit for paying my personal bill

  13. Yet Another Redditor says:

DP: Paid AT&T personal bill (not small business) on Sep 1, received credit on Sep 6 for self and AU. Set up reminder to do this again on Oct 1 and Nov 1, since the offer can be used 3 times.

  14. TN says:

DP: I paid a one time $150 for my personal internet on 9/8. Received the credit today 9/9. The fastest I’ve seen of Amex credits.

  15. Kevin Hess says:

Has anyone not received the email, but got the credit?

  16. DR says:

If you are having issues with hitting the CR wall online, call into support and they will happily take your money and the email should come soon after.

  17. Anthony says:

Still working for personal AT&T lines as of 10/6! Instant email and credit upon the charge hitting the statement.

  18. Confused says:

Has anyone made a payment over the phone to see if it worked? Or does it work only online?

  19. Jedi says:

Just made two payments on different credit cards in sisters personal ATT account. Everything should work, but no confirmation emails in last 15 minutes. Shows pending on credit card, but usually get instant Amex offer congrats. A bit worried Amex update the coding.

Any recent success or failure stories on personal ATT accounts??
