Amex Offer: Spend $25 at Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Get $10 or 1,000 MR

The Offer

There’s a new Amex Offer deal for Carrabba’s showing in some Amex logins. There are two versions of the offer, depending on card type:

  • Get 1,000 Membership Rewards points by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $25 or more in-restaurant at Carrabba’s Italian Grill
  • Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $25 or more in-restaurant at Carrabba’s Italian Grill

The Fine Print

  • Valide through 5/31/17
  • $25 must be met in a single transaction
  • Valid in-restaurant only; not valid on online purchases
  • Excludes airport locations, locations at 3115 Kirby Lane, Houston TX and 1399 South Voss, Houston TX
  • Excludes deliveries done through third parties

Our Verdict

This deal is obviously good for actual use, just make sure to hit the $25 threshold in a single transaction. Buy a $25 gift card to lock in the discount for the future or to be able to break up your purchases.

There is also a reselling angle here since these can be resold for up to 74% of their value. Your cost is just 60% after the $10 , aside from any credit card points. Hopefully, they’ll let you buy a bunch of gift cards or larger gift cards and split up the payment between multiple cards. You can use at least 4 cards per transaction.

In the past, these Carrabba’s offers had a Twitter hashtag but that’s not the case with this one, as of now. Check out these 14 things to know about Amex Offers to learn more about them. The other thing to remember is that it might be worth waiting as sometimes they’ll offer a $10 bonus gift card for every $50 spent. Some readers speculate something should be offered around memorial day & mother’s day.

Before rushing out and buying those gift cards, wait till around Memorial Day. Carrabba’s might have a sale with $10 bonus card for each $50 spent.

This. Plus Mother’s Day is May 14th, and they’ll likely have the $10 promo for that as well.

Added, good point!

In addition, for those who aren’t familiar, if you get a Carabba’s gift card it’s interchangeable and can be used at the other affiliated brands including Outback, Flamingos and Bonefish Grill. Last time there was a stackable deal like this I used about half of the stash of gift cards at Bonefish Grill, which also had some kind of early dinner special going that further stacked.

anyone notice changes on the amex offers? I was 6/7 on my cards, but my wife was 0/6 (checked hers after mine) and we are authorized users on each others accounts. I’m hoping this is a fluke and isn’t some change by AMEX to limit to once actual account?!

I have the same problem. The offer showed up in all my husband’s cards (5) while I only have the offer in the platinum card (I have 6 total). We are authorized users each other for only two cards. Maybe Amex now limits the offer to one per household???

I did not have the same experience. I added the Carrabbas offer on my card yesterday. Today my wife logged into her account and she had the offer on the card for which she is AU on my account.

Also they have a program called Dine in which every 4th meal is 50% off. Stacks with everything else – but only for dine-in.

I noticed that this particular offer says “limit 1 statement credit per online account” or something like that. That’s the first time I’ve seen that particular wording. Makes me wonder if AMEX is cracking down or limiting how many offers can be redeemed. Any ideas about this? I have the offer on 2 of my cards but they are both under the same online account. Wonder if I can redeem both of these.

JHC, proofread. Both your offers are the same. There’s a 1000 MR version out there too.
