I made a purchase of a $250 Neiman Marcus e-gift card with a registered Amex card and the $50 statement credit posted a couple of days later. Obviously, the purchase of a physical gift card would work as well.
Note that physical gift cards come with a $5 shipping fee.

Our Verdict
This could really be a great deal for shopping or for the purpose of reselling the gift card. Saveya is offering 86% for Neiman Marcus gift cards and usually allows electronic submission of the gift code. (You can use Cardpool at a 7% lower rate as a backup in case something goes wrong with Saveya.) Or you can buy a physical gift card with a $5 fee and sell it to Cardpool for 84%.
Another very interesting thing here is that FrequentMiler reports in his Laboratory that many portals have worked on the purchase of Neman Marcus gift cards, and even e-gift cards.
Currently, Ebates is offering 8% cashback for Neiman Marcus. (See all portal rates here.) Their regular rate is 4% and the 8% has been going for a few days (don’t know how long it will last). I just made an e-gift card purchase using Ebates and two days later I got email confirmation of $20 cashback for the $250 purchase.
You can get $5-15 on the actual sale + $20 from the portal + credit card points = good deal.
Bear in mind that there’s very limited time to use this offer as the offer expires at the end of the month. If you’re ordering a physical gift card, you need to give a good few days or more for the purchase to ship and the charge to post to your credit card. I am placing my 350.00 order elsewhere. This was one of the most confusng sites I have visited lately. You can even have my NM credit card back. I used to enjoy shopping at NM where service was wonderful!Things sure have changed.
If you have Ebates credit card, can get another 3% cb, for total of 11%.
Of course, you’d lose out on the Amex sync offer…
