Thought I’d have a usable Amex coupon for once, but isn’t showing up in my offers.
Is this a backdoor way for them to devalue Alaska points now that the transfer path Amex has ended? This offer could allow them to raise their flights prices (and thus points prices) without affecting demand because this offer will increase demand?
They’ve been running these offers, especially in the summer, for years.
Maybe giving marketing demand to make transfer happen again?
Maybe Alaska has gave a deal of marketing for transfer partner on demand
Not on any of my 5 cards.
Anyone knows if it triggers for gift cards (even though the description says otherwise)?
Purchase a main non-refundable ticket. After 24 hours you can cancel and have the funds go to your wallet.
That allows you to “bank” the credit, but it’ll have a 1 year expiration date so less good than a gift card
I believe wallet credits are good for 5 years now.
I think the 5-year validity period only applies to vouchers given out because of flight delays or cancellations due to new government rules that require it. The 12-month rule still applies to standard credits.
Any way to use this and still get free checked bags with the Alaska credit card?
Get a booking, then cancel to get eCredit, apply this eCredit towards your actual ticket with some amount on your Alaska card.
Which cards are we seeing this on? Anyone? Dude? Jackie Treehorn?
Blue, Hilton, others. Seems generic.
