Chase launched a targeted offer on the Chase Marriott Personal Premier of 100,000 points after $5,000 in spend. There is now a direct link available for this offer. One of Chase’s “unofficial official” policies is that if you sign up for the card and the bonus is increased within 90 days, they will match you to the higher sign up bonus.
The previous offer on this card was 80,000 points after $3,000 in spend. To get upgraded to the 100,000 point offer you need to send them a secured message requesting it. After doing so, the representative will confirm the higher bonus and request you contact them again when you meet the higher minimum spend requirement of $5,000.
This new offer is exactly the same, apart from the minimum spend being $5,000 instead of $3,000 and the bonus being 100,000 points instead of 80,000 points. I think 10x points per dollar spent (plus what you’d normally earn) is a good deal, but probably only a good idea to request this match if you will meet the newer spend requirement (there also shouldn’t be any rush, you should have at least until May 3rd to switch offers so you could always just wait to see how much you’ll actually be able to spend).
I wonder how annoyed the Chase reps get from reading and responding to all the different pleas for matching to a higher offer. If I was a chat rep, I’d prefer if the customer asked directly instead of kissing butt to get matched lol.
Got a match yesterday by SM, sweet and simple. I was approved for the normal 80K bonus back on 2/7.
Their response was “We understand you are interested in a different bonus offer and reviewed the application you submitted. Please contact us back after you have meet the required spend of $5,000 in new purchases within the first three months of opening your account in order to qualify.” I’m guessing that I’m matched. Typically their answer is more straight and something like we will be glad to match you to that offer.
