The new Kroger credit card has now launched. U.S. Bank used to issue and manage the Kroger card but stopped accepting applications in May and converted existing cardholders to the Smartly card in July. The new Kroger card is powered by ‘Imprint Payments’, the issuer is First Bank & Trust and it runs on the Mastercard payment network.
Card Details
- $100 sign up bonus after you spend $750+ outside of Kroger channels within 90 days (reward is redeemable for eligible grocery purchases only)
- No annual fee
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 5x points on Kroger delivery or pickup
- 4x points on Kroger fuel only
- 3x points in store at Kroger
- 2x points on dining utilities and travel
- $10 birthday reward on your birthday
- Free boost essential membership
- 0% balance transfer fee (but no free APR period so useless)
Our Verdict
Boost essential normally costs $69 a year, with the birthday reward that bumps it up to $79 in value. It’s a shame that the card doesn’t earn 5x on all Kroger purchases though. Personally don’t see the value here with only a $100 sign up bonus but if that increases in future it might be worth it for the long term value of free boost essential and the birthday reward. Will add this to our list of the new credit cards for 2026. Won’t be adding this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.
