Direct link to offer (any 4 digit code will work)

Our Verdict

Previous best deal was 80,000 miles, but that required a total of $4,000 in spend. Some popular redemption options include:

  • You can get flights for 35,000 miles round trip with the card from mainland USA to Hawaii. Note, however, there isn’t a lot of space available.
  • Intra island flights are 7,500 miles one way.

We will add this to our best credit card bonus page as it’s so easy to meet the requirements.

Opened and closed Aviator card last year. Currently not holding any Barclay card. Applied for personal and approved. Applied for the business one right after and went pending but approved 30 minutes later.

Did you get the welcome bonus for each card?

I was planning Hawaii trip and jumped on it last year when they had similar no-spend offer on personal card. Got one for me and P2. It was just enough to get 4 round trip tickets from LAX, free bags is a bonus. Having said that, unless you are actually planning on flying to Hawaii, I would not bother. I did not find any other worthwhile redemptions or benefits.

Thanks for sharing the offer. I live in Dallas, this airline is not that useful. Neither is Alaskan if they merge. Is there any benefit of getting this card?

You can always book American flights via Alaska, so if the merger goes through you should have some decent access to flights from where you are.

Are we talking the business or personal card here? The links go to the business card w SUB 60K miles for 2K min spend, and then 10K w employee card/single purchase. Is there a spearate link out there for the personal for 70K for a single purchase? This is the only link I can find for the personal which shows 65K single purchase (from FM): https://www.getmyhawaiiancard.com/

Make sure to check if Hawaiian airlines are available in your area… For example, it isn’t in DFW for some reasons. Seems like Barclays AA is a better choice

I’m leary of anything without minimum spend due to risk of getting a 1099.

You should quit your job too.
Why bother with if you’ll have to pay taxes on the earnings?

You joke, but I know people who turn down an extra $20k a year just to stay under min for free healthcare and government benefits.

Get this while you can. When Alaska Airline merge with them, their miles will be devalued anyways

John

wouldn’t they just convert to alaska miles, which are highly valuable?

austin

that’s not necessarily true, they could invent whatever conversion rate they deem fit.

we’ll see if the predictors who transferred to Hawaiian will win jackpot. Though Alaskas international J F class transfer partners will get nerfed in a month.

Can anyone weigh in on whether the impending merger with Alaska makes these miles more or less valuable?

FWIU the Maui Jim option is no longer available

Alaska is GOING to devalue their own miles in April. That’s certain. How likely do you think they will do that to Hawaiian too? Don’t forget Boeing also makes them look bad. Alaska lost over hundreds of millions of revenue while those planes were grounded. It’s a cost saving measure to devalue miles Ben

Ben
Ben (@guest_1790574)

Why are you so certain? Didn’t Alaska just recently introduce a new award chart (aka Deval)?

Alaska is going to devalue their miles STARTING in April. They announced this last year already. This is not news. Google some blog posts and you’ll find it. Ben

Most likely but that deal won’t finalize for at least another year. It’s still good to get these miles now and use them before then.
