lakers nba card no annual fee

Card Details

  • 10,000 points (worth $100) if you spend $500 or more within 90 days of account opening
  • 20% off anytime you use your card at NBAstore.com
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 5x points during the NBA All-Star Weekend and two weeks of the NBA finals
    • 3x points on qualifying NBA tickets, NBA in-stadium transactions and NBAStore.com transactions
    • 2x points at supermarkets and gas stations
    • 1x points on all other purchases
  • 0% introductory APR on purchases for first six months
  • 0%-3.99% intro balance transfer APR for 12 months (there is a $10 or 4% fee whichever is greater for balance transfers)

Our Verdict

Usually this card has an annual fee of $50 which is not waived the first year, this offer gives you no annual fee ever which means you can keep it. This is particular useful because the card earns 5% cash back everywhere on all purchases twice a year (NBA Finals & All Star Weekend), it’s also an American Express card which means you can enroll it in AmEx Sync offers and also in small business Saturday. If you’re seriously considering this offer, I’d strongly recommend you read our detailed review of this card first.

This seems like a pretty nice upgrade to the card, because it means you don’t need to worry about recouping the costs of the annual fee each year.

Hat tip to reader Ted for letting me know.

Thanks for the reminder. Instantly approved for $19k – my 2nd highest CL across all cards and the highest ever I got on a new one. NBA finals here I come 😉

20k CL, otherwise same metrics, which is a pleasant surprise for no previous relationship with Compass. I don’t have any realtime CRA monitoring, but I’ll report back which bureau was pulled.

Experian.

Ugh. Denied! Credit rating of mid 700’s, never any defaults or anything. What a waste of a pull.

Call reconsideration. Might be able to make it work

I’m under reconsideration but didn’t resolve over the phone — said they’d let me know in a week. Also said they are getting a lot of applications.

Which bureau did they pull for you? And which state are you in?

Interesting card but even more interesting without AF. Finals should be within the first half of June so coming up quick. Strongly considering picking this up. Thanks for the heads up

Do you know how much each point is worth? Anything less than a cent would make this card useless.

Any thoughts on whether we could load Serve with this? And get 5X? I’d assume the answers would be yes and yes.

Anybody got any email yet? Just a little worried since I haven’t heard ANYTHING from them yet except for the Slam Dunk! page after the successful app…

Can anyone confirm if this card can enroll in amex sync? Does anybody with this card know what the login site for this card is? I would think that only cards that log in through americanexpress.com are eligible for amex sync.

MrWho

BlueBird, Serve, and all the 3rd party AMEX don’t qualify according to “I would think that only cards that log in through americanexpress.com are eligible for amex sync,” which is not true.

Al
Al

How do I enroll 3rd party amex for amex sync? I don’t see an option for my penfed amex so I’m not going to assume the bbva amex will qualify.

Twitter or Facebook

How do you think people like us enroll 20+ Amex cards (incl. BB, Serve, FIA etc) for these offers and make hundreds of $$ each year off of those

I’ve had this card for a little bit and did a few test purchases… the second one being $500+ and no fraud issues. Obviously plan on using it a lot more very shortly.

A note to all those who do not get approved instantly.

Be patient and wait for the call for information verification.

You will then have to wait a day or two to get the e-mail saying you are approved.

There is no other process that I know off to get your approval status.

Pulled Experian instead of TransUnion…a sad day for me….but instant approval for $21k.

Thx for the info, where are you located?

I heard that making payments to this card is a hassle from other institutions like WF, by the way.

Got an instant for $19k, hope to make good use of this card for amex offers and during the special offer periods

I have read in the term that “payments made for prepaid and reloadable cards such as certain gift cards, Visa Buxx,® and similar cards are not Qualifying Purchases”. So maybe simon’s mall vgc and serve is not eligible for 5%, or even not eligible for any points? Any datapoints for those?

@David
I wonder how are you even supposed to load buxx with an amex.
