It turns into credit on your account so it’s locked.

Thanks! Instacart put my account in review because I keep complaining about receiving expired food (which is actually happening). I bought the gift card anyway with one of those MCGCs from the last Staples no fee deal.
Same here. Especially obnoxious on Costco orders where it’s supposed to be 100% satisfaction guaranteed. They need to train shoppers to check items for expiration dates and mold.
My fix: make additional Instacart accts (bonus: you’re eligible for promos again)

What if you had paid for an annual membership?
I’m staying with my pregnant daughter in the Bay Area, so can’t MS, and needed convenient grocery delivery, so I bought an annual membership. I also get Delta SkyMiles.
I didn’t get expired foods but I constantly get foods that are near their expiration dates. Can’t even complain in this case. Have to find a way to finish a jug of milk in 4 days. 🤷🏻♀️
