Here’s my experience: FedEx Freight has to be paid over the phone, they don’t have a web portal. These code as FedEx Freight, and the percentage back loads after a few days.

I’ve done several FedEx ground (white truck, I would call it FedEx Shipping). This has a web portal for payment, and this does NOT activate the percentage back. I just got off the phone with AMEX, and these web payments are being keyed as “FedEx Payment” which does not qualify for for the percentage backs offer.

On my next FedEx ground bill, I’ll try calling it in to see if it codes differently.

@Bill Did you find out if calling in changes how it is coded for FedEx Ground? I think the reason it’s not working is because the terms exclude Fedex Billing Online invoiced payments.

Seems like there’s 3 offers
25% FedEx Shipping
20% FedEx Freight
10% FedEx Office

Got 2x 25% on the same card… interesting. Wonder if Amex will actually pay?

Also have 10% back on Fedex Office on Hilton Biz.

Not sure. Other than find a business that could put my CC on their account for fedex shipping/freight. Fedex Office (formerly kinko’s) might have gift cards of some sort??

I don’t care what the discount is, I would never ship with FedEx. I have had way more lost packages with FedEx and when I used to ship with FedEx I had more complaints about the FedEx Home Delivery than any other service. The problem is not with FedEx Ground or FedEx Express, but the Home Delivery Service. Ever since they split it apart from the main FedEx the service has been atrocious.

I’ve had the opposite experience. I have excellent service with FedEx but crappy service with UPS. Just this past week, I had several packages scheduled for Tuesday, an overnight one for Wednesday and two more for Thursday. Got them all on Friday. But got FedEx deliveries every day. This is for residential delivery.

As a follow up, I even go out of my way on my ebay listings to specifically write that I do not ship with FedEx like other sellers. You don’t know how many times people have contacted me and thanked me for not shipping with FedEx Home Delivery.

It’s got to be regional, just as I assume my UPS problems are. The good news is that we have choices.

Most terrible service is fedex smart post, way worst than ups surepost. UPS may deliver surepost packages at their convenience (save 1 day) for free. UPS may deliver package if they’re arrived at final hub sooner that expected. That never happen with fedex. Fedex smartpost sometime slower than DHL.

Agreed, Fed-Ex is terrible.

I’ve found that the trick is to ALWAYS ALWAYS tape your label holder on to the box. What happens a lot of times is that while the package is in transit, the label holder can get stuck to another box and get ripped off. Taping it down helps prevent this.

I was losing packages every month with FedEx until I started doing this. 0 lost packages in 6 years and I ship about 50 a month minimum.

Also, signature confirmation on all packages with value.
