Buy Google Pixel 4 & Get 50% Back as a Google Fi Credit (up to $500 Credit)

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Google is offering a 50% rebate on any Pixel 4 purchase. Rebate comes in the form of a Google Fi credit (not a cash rebate).
    • Pixel 4 64 GB costs $800 and gets a $400 Fi Credit
    • Pixel 4 128 GB costs $900 and gets a $450 Fi Credit
    • Pixel 4 XL 64 GB costs $900 and gets a $450 Fi Credit
    • Pixel 4 XL 128 GB costs $1,000 and gets a $500 Fi Credit

The Fine Print

  • Offer is valid Nov 24, 2019 at 12:00 AM PST through Dec 2, 2019 at 11:59 PM PST, or while supplies last.
  • For individual plans, limit one per person. For group plans, limit one per group plan member.
  • Offer is only available to U.S. residents 18 years or older, and requires Google Payments and Google Fi accounts.
  • Unless otherwise stated, this offer cannot be combined with other offers.
  • Fi credit is not transferable and is not valid for cash or cash equivalent.
  • If Google Fi determines that this offer is used in connection with abuse, misuse, or fraud, the Fi credit will be voided.  Account must be active and in good standing to receive credits.
  • Void where prohibited.
  • You can qualify as either a new or existing Google Fi customer.
  • To qualify for the Fi credit, you need to :
    • Have active Fi service with the same email you used to purchase the phone.
    • Activate the purchased Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and remain active for 60 consecutive days (this can be done by you or anyone on your group plan).
  • Activate on a full service plan (i.e., data-only SIMs do not qualify).
  • You will receive an email notification after all terms and conditions have been satisfied, and the credit will be applied to your subsequent bills (usually 60-90 days after activation).
  • If your service is paused, the credit will only appear once your service is reactivated.
  • The credit will be applied toward monthly service costs only, such as data, calls, texts, and device protection; it cannot be applied to phone purchase or financing.
  • If you return or cancel your order, you are not eligible to keep the credit.

Our Verdict

With this deal you pay full price on the phone, but get a Fi credit. You can alternatively get $200 off any of the Pixel 4 phones (can be stacked with other deals on Amazon), as we wrote in a previous post. For someone who uses Fi anyway, this 50% credit is quite a good deal, and better than the $200 offer.

Hoping this drops the price of the Pixel 3 further. The 3a is now $249.

$249 is probably with a contract and/or switching carriers. I believe it’s $299 otherwise.

$249 when purchased through Fi (which this post is about)

Correct, but honestly, Fi is cheap compared to other networks.

I’d caution against this deal from Fi – I did a similar deal last year with the Pixel 3, and Google would not honor the credit. A number of people reported Google changing the T&C after the fact, likely because they realized that they had given away too much when the deal became popular.

Could you be more specific about the circumstances? I bought a Pixel 3 XL with a similar 50% off Google Fi deal and Google followed through without so much as a hiccup. I’m thinking about getting the 4 XL.

Details would be appreciated– I got on the “phone cost refund in travel gift cards” with a pixel 3 deal, and had no issues redeeming and using the gift cards.

They have added a credit tracker this year, which makes it transparent.

I did this exact promotion with the Pixel 3 and had no issues with the credit posting. In fact I did it with 2 accounts.

Looking to upgrade my smartphone, been on a Moto play for a while. Is Google pixel considered the best, or do Samsungs provide better value?

You should consider the one plus 7 pro

Google’s strength is software, like in the great camera with Night Sight. And, if you value security and OS updates (monthly updates guaranteed for 3 years) available sooner than any other Android phone, or Google’s software apps (Maps, Assistant, etc.) and how seamlessly they work together on their phones with stock Android, etc., then the hardware is more than good enough – it just isn’t always the absolute best.

Pixels (& the Moto G) work better than any other phones over Google Fi. Apple, Samsung phones, etc., don’t support automatic carrier switching for a better connection when one carrier may be more congested, nor does the free built-in Google VPN work with Samsung, Apple or other phones.

In terms of the hardware, if you have requirements for more storage or RAM, etc., then even a high-end Pixel might not work well. Google says their phones are designed for 80% of the market, not the 20% that needs more – for example, 512GB or 1TB of storage, or 8-12GB RAM, etc.

The better deal is that the Pixel 3a is only $249 if you sign up for Fi, or $329 for the XL. The XL price is not apparent as Google makes you sign up for Fi before you can even choose a phone and they are advertising only the 3a price on the Google Store.

Fi is also only $30/month with the Flexible plan if you use 1GB like me and fly solo. What a great deal.

I executed this Pixel 3a deal last night with a BofA Cash Rewards card with a 6% bonus to online shopping. I switched from Verizon and I get to keep my OG Pixel with unlimited OG quality photo uploads. They valued my OG pixel trade-in at $40. The Photos storage is worth more than that in annual Google 1 fees.

Got the Moto 7 for $99 (Self referred from another google acct, hope they don’t claw it back lol) to replace a Moto (G)t that we have been using as a 4G hotspot for international trips for the the family to use when hotels cap data or speeds as well as when out and about – Moto (G) 5 as a hotspot we got about 24 hours between charges. My youngest likes the Moto phones motions Shake for flashlight, chop for phone etc.
