Our Verdict
There is also a $300 personal checking bonus as well. This business bonus is worth doing as well as the requirements are easy. Will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

They’re already being a pain in the ass. The account has been open 1 week and I was charged $15 for being under $2000 while I’ve been waiting for an external transfer to clear. Chatted with support and reversed it.
Also they confirmed that the 90 day $2000 average is calculated from day 1 of the account being opened, so I need to keep about $2200 in it from now on to average it out.
This better be a pretty sweet $500.
Same on the fee. I just keep telling myself at least it’s $500 and not a measly $100-200 for this…
I can’t even pull money into the biz account from external accounts. It’s really quite ridiculous. They were not ready for primetime here…
yeah same problem. They’ll reverse that $15 fee if you ask them though.
Approved on April 8th.
Applied before the DoC effect.
Thanks for the reply Ken and Moresun. Congratulations to both of you! I truly celebrate your success. I would suggest getting proof that they Keypoint will honor the original terms if you applied online before terms changed to In Branch Only. I did succeed in my communication with them via the Check Application Status page to get them to agree to that. Just failed on the PreScreen. That’s my take after all the back and forth communication with them.
To save all from the hassle…and Chex inquiry….do not waste time following up with Keypoint. Freeze Chex to avoid a wasted inquiry. As I have yet to see any approvals in this thread.
I got approved but had to jump through many hoops, including uploading entire tax return, fictitious name statement, etc
Applied online
I did online. My phone rep mentioned something about online being kinda new for business accounts so I think they’re being extra through. I would go in branch.
Fwiw I was also told I had to open a personal savings account for membership. So I hit the checking bonus via DoC referral thread (not a great bonus as you can’t fake their DDs but it’s $50/month until a better offer comes along for my DD).
The requirement to open a consumer membership is bizarre. What if the business was a corporation? Would the officers or shareholders be required to open consumer memberships?
Thank you for letting me know about this additional requirement. I guess I will think about it some more, but I am tempted to pass. The branch is 2 hours away, and I can’t do the consumer bonus you mentioned because I can’t generate consecutive real DDs (my only source for real DDs is irregular). This is starting to look like way too much trouble for $500.
I was also approved but as has been stated they want a LOT. Only operating businesses who don’t mind sharing everything should bother applying.
They definitely only want legit businesses. Can confirm they want the entire tax return, not just the sched c. If that all checks out then it’s a phone interview for regulatory type q’s on your business. If any of that is a deal breaker do not waste your time applying.
Sole prop available but they require chex pull (even if already a personal acct member) and need schedule c from tax returns
They want the entire tax return. Is that even legal? They claim it’s to determine the health of the business but the rest of the tax return is not relevant to the health of the business. They should disclose this nonsense up front before wasting everyone’s time.
I would steer clear of this bank entirely. There is no reason for them to require someone’s full tax return. What other bank does that? Zero. In all my years of credit card processing or banking, no bank has ever required irrelevant tax return info as proof of a business.
Super sketchy. Avoid.
It seems they charged my cc twice $500 (posted) + $500 (pending).. anyone else get that? My application is still pending too. I applied 4 days ago like everyone else. Sole prop.. no documentation
Beware of Cash advance. P2 when applied, it did charge the $500 funding when using the Chase Biz Ink Unlimited. It came thru as Cash advance and was also charged a fee twice by chase. Once for the membership charge of 10 and another for the checking acc charge of 490. What is worse is the app is still pending.
That sucks. I used BoA biz card and it went thru as purchase since my cash advance is set to 0. Application is still pending, even though I applied on 4/20.
Has anyone been approved online? I applied on 4/20, the status showed “pending” and then changed to “referred” after a couple of days. No one has contacted me yet.
How did you check on the status of your application? I applied on 4/21 and heard nothing. I have a personal checking
account with Keypoint CU and I am OOS.
Thanks!
Shortly after submitting the application I received an email confirmation with portal link to check status, upload docs and send messages
Thanks. I don’t remember getting the confirmation email.
Finally found the email in my ‘junk’ file. Mine same as yours “referred”. Thanks and good luck with this one! (o:
