Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
This account has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find an early account termination fee in the fee schedule.
Our Verdict
Unfortunately seems like they are incredibly ChexSystems sensitive, that’s a shame as otherwise this would be a bonus definitely worth doing.

Has anyone gotten a 1099 for tax year 2023?
Yes. I got one
The DD23 promo fine print states “Total bonus credited within 9 months of new account opening”
Does it mean one can miss a month or two DD and still be good for the bonus?
You have two months to start the DD.
From the terms:
The monthly bonus will be paid out the following month if the direct deposit requirement is met. If direct deposit stops or does not meet the requirement, the $50 monthly bonus will not be paid and the remainder of up to $300 bonus forfeited.
Hi all, I did the $300 bonus where you get incremental payments of $50 over 6 months. I have eventually been paid the bonus but this has been one of the most painful bonuses I have ever worked on, because they never post the $50 for me automatically. I have to pull out their teeth, sending multiple support requests per month to get my $50 every month. It’s one thing to have to fight for your bonus once, but to do it EVERY MONTH FOR SIX MONTHS. the support is so awful…word of caution.
Were you doing real DD?
Yes I should have clarified, these were all legit DD
DEAD. Thanks, DOC!
What’s dead? The offer page still works for me. Click my name if you need a referral. 😉
Looks fine to me
P1’s personal wise transfer worked fine for P2. Referral also posted on P2 account. $50 in each account.
I was charged $5 fee in my smart saving account, totally forgot the saving is not free.
I’m P1 and about 200$ out of 300$ the way through. Here’s some Dp’s…if any 🤔
11/30/23: Account opened with opening deposit 5$
Time between these dates I set up my zelle
12/4/23: DD ACH Chase Payroll 1001.23$
12/4/23: Withdrew funds by Zelle (only 500.00 @ a time)-(You can withdrawal same day)
12/5/23: Withdrew funds by Zelle (500.00)
12/15/23: Descriptive Bonus 50$
1/9/24: DD ACH Chase Payroll 1001.23$( I just do random amounts, makes it seem real)
1/9/24: Withdrew funds by zelle
1/10/24 withdrew funds by zelle
1/15/24: Descriptive bonus 50$
2/2/24 referred P2
2/7/24 P2 received ACH Chase payroll 1001.23$
2/15/24 P1 received Descriptive bonus referral 50$
2/15/ P2 received Descriptive bonus 50$
This is where it gets a little different. I “P1” did not get my DD in before the 15 of the month. I got it in on the 16th and because of this my 50$ descriptive bonus did not come in till 3/1/24
So I’m thinking if you get your Direct deposits or referral’s in and they complete there DD requirements before the 15th of each month you should get paid on the 15th of each month. Anything after the 15 you will get paid on the 1st the following month is what I noticed.
2/16/24 P1-DD ACH Chase payroll 1001.23$
2/16/24 withdrew zelle
2/17/24 withdrew Zelle
3/1/24 P1- Descriptive bonus 50$
3/8/24 P1- DD ACH Chase payroll 1001.23$
3/8/24 P2- DD ACH Chase payroll 1001.23$
3/15/24 P1 and P2 both received 50.00$ descriptive bonuses
All I got for now…no go get it!
“Chase Payroll”, is that a push from a Chase Business checking account in your name? Or are you working for Chase Bank and thats your paycheck from work?
Yes, from Chase business checking.
More specifically, an optional paid payroll service used in conjunction with a Chase business account.
Interesting thanks. Looks like they pay out on the 15th if you get the DD is prior and the 1st if you get the DD in after the 15th.
Did you pay $2.5 per transaction for that? Thanks.
Is the last day of the month ok for real DD?
Can someone verify the $50 bonus is per calendar month, rather than 30 day periods starting from account opening or first deposit?
or whatever
It’s calendar months. Their statements match that as well.
The only thing that is floating is that you need the first DD within 60 days from opening. Dirk
I was trying fake DD for the first month but I’ll set up real DD for early next month
I don’t recall ever seeing any banks requiring a DD per statement cycle instead of per calendar month. Just curious, have you seen any banks requiring DDs by statement cycle?
Also, when the banks require “recurring monthly direct deposit for XX months”, the “recurring DDs” do not need to happen on the same day per month, correct? I assume the DDs do not need to be on the same day, but I just wanted to confirm…
None are coming to mind, no. Never seen any that required the DD to be on the same day each month, as that would be impossible for almost everyone.
SF Fire CU uses 30 day floating DD periods starting with first DD, IIRC.
Great to know, thank you! I used to try to get my DDs on the same day or close to the same day and of the same amount each month, but it got difficult to track. Knowing they can be on any day each month is a big relief.
Knowing there are CUs that use 30 day floating period to qualify DDs, I’ll make sure to read the terms and conditions each time!
For KeyPoint specifically my first DD was on 01/12, second was on 02/15 and third was on 03/13 so definitely not in the same day. I think as long as is on the calendar month, you’re good
Thanks for the DPs!
Gadget: I went to your website and did not find your referral link for KeyPoint CU?

applied online, already belong to ffa, was declined, no explanation given, they didn’t call or ask for docs or anything (probably chex, i’ve been pretty active the past couple months) 🙁 has anyone successfully appealed if it’s already declined in the system?
Spoke to CSR today, they couldn’t give details over the phone but said their general guideline is to decline anyone who has more than 6 chex inquiries within last 90 days (hopefully useful data point so nobody else wastes a pull if they’ve got recent activity)
Just saw your post. Just checked my report and I had at least 7 in 90 when I applied. Either they don’t have a strict policy or the policy changed. Sorry. Just give it a few months.
I just checked my record, I was approved with 7 in 90 days, maybe they changed their policy? Have you pulled your chex report to see if they did pull your chex?
I was approved w a high #. They just asked for the reason for the # of inquiries and they’ve asked others the same. Call to find out why you were declined.
