It still makes sense to top up a JetBlue account where the points were earned from flying for a redemption. But that is about it in this case. Similar to transferring UR from a CSR to B6 or WN, where redeeming through the portal is a better deal if starting from a 0 balance.

Am I missing something, or does this transfer option make no sense at all? Capital one miles are worth a fixed $0.01 each when redeemed for ALL travel, and JetBlue points are worth a maximum of 1.6 cents each when redeemed for JetBlue travel. So you’re giving 2 cents to get at most 1.6 cents. Why would anyone ever do this? Very strange of Cap1 to even offer this. I understand that with subpar redemption values like Amazon, people don’t realize how bad of a deal it is and just want to buy on Amazon quickly. but anyone considering transferring to airline miles has some sense of what they’re worth and would never do this. Very bizarre.

That’s great. Turn $0.02 into $0.01-$0.014.

Very smooth Capital One, very smooth.
