[Expired] Capital One QuickSilver Increased Signup Bonus to $200

Deal has expired, view the best cash sign up bonuses here.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer

  • Get $200 bonus when signing up for the Capital One Quicksilver card after spending $1,000 within three months

Card Details

  • 1.5% cash back on all purchases
  • No annual fee
  • No foreign transaction fees

Our Verdict

The bonus is usually $100, it recently went up to $150, and now it’s up to $200 with this special link. The spend requirement is a bit higher at $1,000 instead of the typical $500.

$200 is already a level where some people are willing to signup for a card, though the fact that Capital One pulls all 3 bureaus puts a damper on that.  (Note, you can freeze your Experian and still get approved.)

The card just earns 1.5% back, and you should be getting a minimum of 2% value on all your purchases. The most interesting part about this card are the various promotions they’ve been running, like the current Spotify offer and the old Uber offer. It also might make sense for international purchases due to no foreign transaction fees (a rarity among no-fee cards).

Combining the signup bonus and other potential perks, some people might be interested in signing up. A lot of people would just product change another card to the Quicksilver instead.

Check out these other Things to Know about Capital One before applying. We’ve also added this to our list of the best cash sign up bonuses. If you recently signed up for the $150 offer, Capital One is not known for matching the other offer.

Good to know I’m not crazy after all. I knew I had read $500. Thanks!

I was denied. I have nearly 790-800 credit. I wonder why?

Wow, that sucks. Especially as it wastes 2-3 hard pulls

I’m curious how the score on your denial related to the score you posted. My last couple of denials listed Transunion scores in the high 790s. This one said my Experian score was 723. I checked my report and nothing has changed. No negs, just a lot of newish accounts (14/24). It surprises me I can lose 75 points because they pull a different bureau or use some funky Experian score.

I was denied too. I have a 770 score 🙁

Maybe you are just too good for them.

I don’t suppose they’ll allow two of the same cards per person? (Like CF/CFU.) My first card was the capital one platinum which I pc’ed into QS not that long ago.

Andrey
Andrey

They do. I have 2 Ventures, one opened in December 2016 (MC), second opened in July 2017 (Visa). Also have a 2 year old QuickSilver. I used to have their worthless Platinum that I closed shortly after I got the QS. Never carried a balance. They just seem to like me I guess.

I’m wondering what the benefit is to apply for Quicksilver one with $39 annual fee. This card seems to be much better with no annual fee.

Quicksilver one and venture one versions are meant for people with lower credit. Hence the fee. If you apply for the regular no annual fee cards with lower credit you may be offered them instead of an outright rejection I believe.

correct for QS. not for Venture cards.

The main difference between Venture and Venture One is that venture gives you 2 miles for every dollar spent and has a $0 intro annual fee for the first year; $59 after that, while VentureOne only gives you 1.25 miles for every dollar spent but has a $0 annual fee. its not about lower credit score like the QS where you need to pay AF because your credit is crap in their eyes.

I have the quick silver Visa. Is it possible to apply for the MasterCard one in addition; Or is it one “QuickSilver” account per person?

Albert
Albert

I’ve had the quicksilver visa signature for few years.
I got nothing to lose – I just gave it a shot and was approved.

I have two quicksilvers now on my account summary.
I’m guessing the new one is gonna be mastercard then? Lol this is hilarious

any recent DPs out there about applying for TWO caps in one day? no 6 months cool down BS or DPs about having more than 2 recent Cap ones under one SSN? i know some have many but i am asking about recent DPs since its speculated 2 is max and only can get 1 at a time. some have more than 5 Amex CCs also, but no recent successes on that.

Their terms disclosure says, “I understand that I am not eligible for this offer if: …I have applied for a Capital One credit card 2 or more times in the last 30 days. I have 5 or more open credit card accounts with Capital One.”

NinjaX
NinjaX

thank u for the note. their TCs actually spell out 5 or more in CO? so its 2/30 and 5 CC max like Amex? wow. i need to check myself…

“A lot of people would just product change another card to the Quicksilver instead.”

I don’t understand this point, Will, as I’ve never done that. Does that mean you can get the bonus by changing the card? If so, are they going to do hard pulls on all 3 bureaus again? I do know CO is not particularly friendly.

My Capital One Venture One is a pretty useless card, short of no fees on foreign transactions, and I keep it just because it’s old. This one at least has 1.5% cash-back and also no foreign-transaction fees.

William Charles

No, you don’t get the sign up bonus by product changing but you do get the unique card benefits (e.g spotify/uber discounts) that’s what Chuck is referring to.

Didn’t think so. Thanks, Will.
