The Offer
Check your Capital One Shopping in the Shop More Earn More tab to see if you have the following offer:
- Get $75 back with Nurture Life meal delivery subscription.
- You get 50% off week 1 and 20% off week 2 & 3, after that it’s full price.
- There’s also a Chase/US Bank Offer some have for $20 back with purchase of $20+. (Alternatively, you get a $5 discount for paying with a bank.)
A lot of readers were targeted for $112 from Capital One Shopping, especially if they interact with the portal (e.g. click through to Nurture) and then wait a few hours.
Our Verdict
I can’t find any terms on the offer; I’d assume the portal reward will be triggered with any subscription, no matter how long it lasts. And so this is a good time to try out this meal delivery service.
After the 50% discount, it should be possible to get your first week delivery for as low as $17.97, depending what you order (the cheapest items are single “Oaties” jars and the “Finger Foods”). If you’re using the Chase Offer, you’ll want to hit the $20 threshold to trigger the $20 back (3 x $5.99 and 3 x $7.49 and then 50% discount, that should get you over $20).
Hat tip to snailrock
My CO reward posted yesterday on the to be credited date. Redeemed for ebay GC, canceled nurture life
AFAIK I haven’t been overcharged past the 11.99 using the FARMTOTABLE code
But for good measure I made a new virtual card on Capital One, used it as my default payment method on Nurture Life site, and then locked the virtual card
That should prevent any charging of it
What does it say for everyone under the Order History page and breakdown of price?
Did they stick with your discounted price there or also update there?
Mine did not end up going through because I had a privacy card with a spending limit but mine showed the correct price/code even the day before and then the next day the price was incorrect and under account setting it just showed some other random code on the account.
It is worth noting that being able to set a spending limit is important in situations like this. This is because recurrent/monthly charges are often allowed to occur on cards even when locked. The supposed reasoning behind this is so that people can lock their cards to prevent new charges but payments marked as recurrent can still go through (such as subscription services).
I personally wish these credit card companies let you completely lock a card but this is just something people have to be on the lookout for if you cannot reduce the spending limit.
So is everyone that got overcharged disputing this with them? I dont want to jeopardize the $112 payout from Capital One, but its also bogus that they didn’t honor the price that was submitted for initial order. I also can’t believe that their confirmation email did not include the price of the order.
When are we expected to get the $112 payout credited?
Believe it pends for 30 days from order date.
Is it safe to cancel the subscription, or recommended to keep it active until CB posts?
As with all offers, the safest method is to just skip future shipments until the offer posts.
PSA: check your accounts for free credits
I skipped all weeks possible (only like 3) directly after signing up, and on the last day to change/unskip what would’ve been the 2nd order, 3/29, they sent me an email saying they’d added $40 in credits to my account expiring that day. I didn’t see it in time but checked today and the credits are still there, no new email.
The credits say they don’t apply to shipping but the order has free shipping, so a $40 after 1/2 off order is $0. Changed my payment method to a privacy.com card just in case though.
Be careful. Just because it says $0 when you check out, doesnt mean you wont get charged when it ships. See a bunch of people below that are getting screwed by this company.
EDIT – Just saw you used privacy.com card. Good call.
Yup, they tried to charge the $39.xx. Guess the credit had expired, or else it’s just glitching. There’s no option to skip from the website now, so I’m messaging support to try to cancel.
Unbelievable. How this company seems to be getting away with randomly increasing charges boggles my mind.
To be fair, in my case the promo email did say the credit would expire
ug they ship using OnTrac? let’s see if i even get the package.
Seems this company might be trying to pull some sort of scam. Like some others below I entered promo code that was clearly applied and order total reflecting it. But when order was processed it appears it was changed to some other promo code that resulted in significantly higher order price. If you go to account settings section you can see the promo code applied to the account. I put this order on a privacy card with a limit so the attempted charge was declined.
Some people seem to be reporting no issues but a few other recent comments reporting this so not sure if this is a new issue. Be sure to check your charges if you did this.
I’m in the habit of screenshotting stuff like this for this reason. Can appeal with company and credit card as needed
Mine was using the FARMTOTABLE code which both kept the 11.99 price and triggered the CO shopping trip successfully
Just got the smoothies and sandwiches in. For this price, good deal even without the CO shopping money maker
I screenshotted too but I do not think many people here cares about the food and would not even want to pay even $11.99 for it, they care about getting the C1 payout and messing with the order can interfere with that. I was simply reporting this issue too since there were at least two other people reporting this recently also and it resulted in the price being significantly higher than $11.99.
Yeah good point. Didn’t mean to discount the issue
Did not have the foresight to use a temporary card and just experienced the same issue. I used the FARMTOTABLE code but my credit card was charged over $100 despite checkout showing a total of $11.99.
For those who were overcharged, did the company refund the extra charge after contacting them or do we need to dispute it with the credit card company?
So, I did this for Capital One Shopping with my Chase card for the $20 off. Everything worked well.
Now, can I also do the same thing with USBank? USBank has $40 back. I will use some non-Chase card.
Can I just use a different email?
Interesting, I have that offer too on USB card
How much is the cheapest first box coming out for you? Is it a money maker?
My box showed a charge of ~17 when I checked out on March 19 (50% off and free shipping), but now I see the first charge on my credit card for $49.01. Apparently neither of those discounts came through.
Same here. Did you have any luck getting them to correct the charge?
The Chase offer for $20 off has come back again until 5/9
Yep, I was hoping Chase would do that as they often do. My card was about to be charged so great news.
Did you just pause the subscription after the first order shipped or did you cancel?
Always pause until offer pays out for this sort of thing. Then cancel. Just to be on safe side
