The Offer
- Capital One shopping portal is offering $75 when you sign up for a Magnifi investing annual subscription ($132 cost) or $35 when you signup for a monthly subscription ($14/month cost).
- There’s also an Amex Offer for $14 back on $14 purchase which can be done four times. Enroll by 31/31/23 and use by 7/31/23.
Our Verdict
Looks like a $35 moneymaker on the monthly signup since the Amex Offer will cover the monthly cost (though there might be sales tax).
You’ll probably have to give in your SSN and other personal information to signup, so probably not worth it unless you want to actually try out the service.
It’s possible that if you do the annual subscription for $132 that you’ll get back $56 on the single charge. We have heard of that sometimes being the case with other Amex Offers, and I don’t know how this one will play out.

SB is 2500 SB for the monthly but they advertise the 12000 SB, so heads up, it’s still a small MM $15 with Amex.

Yeah, I realized it is targeted to my account. P1 Swagbucks has it but P2 Swagbucks does not. Mypoints P1 and P2 also don’t have it at the higher payout.
Strange thing is I already did the offer for P1 Swagbucks twice (regular and RevU). At 13000SB, I tried it a 3rd time but it doesn’t look like it tracked.

Is this Magnifi service any good, is it a useful offering for investing?
It’s actually a halfway decent service. I’m not intending to continue the subscription, but it is handy for researching and comparing various ETF’s in a theme you might be looking for, such as income.
Just did this, Swagbucks link with my Amex card.
Amex says “Get a $14…[on a] purchase of $14 or more … Limit of 2 statement credits (total of $28)”
Launching Magnifi from Swagbucks, I get this cheap trial at $7 trial for the first month, not $14
IF you launch from http://magnifi.com/magnifi-personal (as mentioned from Amxe) it shows different options: 7 day free trial and then $14 a month
So if I understand correctly:
I will be charged from Magnify: $7+$14+$14
Swagbucks will give me 3700 ($37)
Amex will give me $28
So I get $30 out of this

But Amex offer expires 12/2 and only covers transactions $14+, so will only get the 2nd month transaction covered for $14

I tried, with a different email, and different portal, but my own personal info. I did get the 7 day trial again, but I was welcomed back and didn’t get the rewards.
I didn’t want to chance missing out on the Amex refund by using fake personal data, but If someone else feels like trying that, knock yourself out.
Did you first do it through Capital One and then tried through SB/MP? I did it through Capital One already
You need to subscribe for 45 day. Cancelling before this might revoke SB.
I’m only seeing 6,100 points (~$36) on MP for the monthly plan – “Sign up for a monthly plan to earn 6,100 Points or annual plan to earn 9,000 Points!*”,
Also, this isn’t a new deal at this point. Did the people who did it a few months ago get their money from SB/MP and were you able to cancel before the third charge hit your AMEX?

When you click the link in the email to do the offer, you will see that you are required to pay $168 for a yearly subscription (no monthly subscription option is provided). Not worth the hassle for me.

I think it’s basically around a free $50 after selling stocks and withdrawing.. for me it’s probably worth it.. plus 1 year of this subscription.. and turn off autorenew and make a note to cancel

Got the email as well. Not sure what a “share” is. IF it’s stocks that can be cashed out immediately then it’s worth it. ($32 money maker plus cash back on a credit card reward) for 10 minutes of work. I did a search on their site and the web and found no information as tto what a magnifi “Share” is.
