The Offer

Direct Link to offer (check to ensure you see the offer)

  • Get 40,000 bonus miles when signing up for the Capital One VentureOne card after spending $1,000 within three months.

You also get a 0% APR for the first 15 18 months on purchases and balance transfers (balance transfer carries 3% fee).

Card Details

  • Earn unlimited 1.25 miles per dollar on every purchase, every day
  • No annual fee
  • No foreign transaction fees

Our Verdict

Standard bonus is $200 and we once saw $250, never higher. It’s still probably smarter to sign up for the Venture with 75,000 points bonus or the 75,000 Venture X signup offer, but this offer does have a lower spend threshold and no annual fee.

You can redeem these points to offset travel costs or toward gift cards at 1 cent per point. As a statement credit it’s just .5 cent per point. Or you can transfer these points to travel partners for even more value.

Bear in mind that Capital One pulls all three credit bureaus. Check out these things to know about Capital One credit cards before applying. We’ll add this to our List of Best Credit Card Signup Bonuses.

CSR rep told me the 40,000 miles is equivalent to 0.80c per mile when redeemed with Gift Cards

So if my calculation is correct. $320 worth of Doordash or Uber eats if you opt in for that or $200 in the form of cash or statement credit

Or pay $400 at a hotel, airline, car rental, cruise line, etc. and redeem them for 1 cent per mile..

Okay I see it here, it looks like it’s only airline partners, no hotels https://www.capitalone.com/learn-grow/money-management/venture-miles-transfer-partnerships/

Accor has 5300 hotels, while Choice has 7100 worldwide. I think that qualifies both of them as a hotel chain.

Does anyone know of their travel points transfer partners if you have an account? I’m hoping theres better yield than doing a statement credit or gift cards for 1:1

Is the selection of gift cards that you can redeem miles for a good, wide assortment of gift card options? Anyone know?

Already have Venture and Venture X.

Anybody know if Cap 1 will allow Venture one too?

808 score, 2% credit utilization, have a Venture X over a year: Denied for “too many credit cards”. Hope a recon call can help.
