If you have an American Express Platinum card (both personal & business) or an American Express Centurion card then you’ll know about the Centurion Lounges found in some select airports, as entry is free. The lounges are great (although often very overcrowded) and it looks like American Express are offering some extra incentives to visit them over the holiday period.
This officially started yesterday with Joel McHale making an appearance at the Las Vegas lounge, in addition to their normal offerings there were also waiters offering baked goods, a hot chocolate bar, Holiday cocktails, and a select of different Christmas candy. Officially here is what they are offering:
- Vosges Haut chocolate tasting
- Wine and whisky tastings with industry experts
- Holiday-inspired cocktails
- Personalized gift wrapping — You’ll also receive a custom-designed leather passport holder and learn gift-wrapping tips and tricks.
- Complimentary eye patches and VIP cards at the Exhale Spas
- Hair consultations, hair touch ups and scalp massages from Warren Tricomi
The events will vary day by day and there is no schedule currently available (I’ve requested one from American Express). Centurion cardholders should also receive a free gift, Flyertalk user billycwhatup reports receiving a pair of Master & Dynamic MH30 headphones that sell for around $330 on Amazon.
I don’t think any of these events will change anybodies mind about attending or not attending a lounge, but it’s a nice holiday gesture regardless.
