Imprint & Safeway have partnered to launch a cobranded credit card called ‘Safeway® forU American Express® Card‘. Card basics are as follows:
- No annual fee
- Card earns at the following rates:
- 5% back at safeway.com and safeway app purchases (pickup and delivery)
- 3% back at safeway in store (grocery and pharmacy)
- 3% back on gas, dining and bills (utilities and streaming)
- 1% back on everything else
- $50 statement credit when you spend $1,000 within the first 90 days outside of Albertson companies
Our Verdict
Sign up bonus stinks and the 5% category is the only one worth considering with some cards earning 3% on all purchases now. I guess if you do a huge amount of spend at Safeway this is worth considering, although you could probably save more by moving that spend to another grocery store.
