Other Chase In Branch Offers: Chase Freedom 30k, Chase Sapphire Reserve & Preferred 60k [Highly YMMV]

Yesterday we posted about an in branch offer of 30,000 points after $500 in spend on the Chase Freedom Unlimited. The offer is only available in branch and only to some selected customers. I have no idea how they decide who is targeted, I think having Chase Private Client status helps but people without it have also reported being targeted. Reader Michael also reported being offered the following:

  • Chase Freedom: 30,000 points
  • Chase Sapphire Preferred: 60,000 points
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: 60,000 points

Keep in mind if you’re pre-approved in branch that this will by pass the 5/24 rule. Last time they had a similar offer it was 70,000 points for the Chase Sapphire Preferred so I’m actually a little surprised to see the bonus has been reduced. I don’t think making a special visit is worth it as most people won’t be eligible, but if you live near a branch or are going in for the $300 checking & $200 savings bonus it’s always a good idea to check for offers.

I don’t know when these came in to play, but I applied for a Chase checking last week and was told by the bank representative in-branch that I was pre-approved for CSP/CSR @ 50k.

  2. I’m assuming while this bypasses 5/24 it does not bypass the one Sapphire product and 1 bonus / 24 months (Preferred/Reserve)? If I’m wrong that would be amazing….

  3. Jerry says:

Is it possible to be pre-approved for the CSP if you already have the CSR?

  4. Tom says:

Just to refresh my memory… I believe you general consensus is that you will likely start to receive in-branch offers again once 6 months has passed since your most recently opened Chase card. Does anyone know if the offers generally start to appear exactly at the 6th month mark, or if it’s best to wait until the first of the month AFTER your 6 month mark has passed? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Chase resets offers at the beginning of each month, so it might be better to wait… has this been established with any level certainty or was that just pure conjecture?

  5. Paul says:

This is a good reminder to go back in branch to check for offers.

  6. Nicole says:

Damn , I got approved for 50k just last week. Haven’t even received my card yet…

  7. bbug1 says:

If I open a pre approved card in branch, the 5/24 rule is bypassed for that card. But does it count for the next Chase card?

    • yes of course it does, all new accounts opened do.

      • bbug says:

Well, it’s Chase’s rule, so it could not count if Chase decided it wouldn’t, I’m looking to get some Ultimate Rewards points for travel, so I’m considering both the Chase Freedom Unlimited and Chase Sapphire Preferred. I can then transfer the points to my Sapphire Reserve account and redeem for 1.5 per point. But it would put me at 5 in the last 24 months and I had hoped (but not expected) that Chase wouldn’t count successful in branch applications.

  8. ranova says:

I know you can only hold one sapphire card, but saw DPs that you can open the CSR and CSP same day and get it approved.

Any recent DPs of that and would it work with inbranch signup?

  9. Bill S. says:

Data point: I’m way beyond 5/24 and check online weekly for Chase offers, where I never see anything. I maintain 15k in a Chase savings account hoping to get a decent in-branch offer. I’m not a CPC. Last week I was pre-approved for a Freedom Unlimited (15k bonus). Since I haven’t received my card but I will call to see if they will match the targeted 30k bonus offer.

  10. Aditya Shrivastava says:

Does anyone know when this is expected to expire?

  11. Son says:

The CSP 70k back in April was only for CPC customers only. I think the 30k CFU is probably CPC client only also.

I will probably visit a branch today to see if I am pre approved for the 30k CFU. Then I plan to apply for the bofa Alaska card and Premium card. and Amex Delta Gold all do today so that they do not see all the inquires 😀

  12. bbug1 says:

If I apply for a Chase card in branch, the 5/24 rule is bypassed. But does it count on my next Chase card application?

    • Jay Bee says:

Only if you’re pre-approved are you going to bypass the 5/24 rule.

And then, of course yes, it will count as a new account once it hits your credit report. The delay until a newly opened credit card hit’s your report varies quite a bit.

    • Yes, any new account opened will count. No need to post your question twice.

  13. Vince says:

Would signing up for the $300 bonus Chase checking account increase ones odds to get any of these offers? I already have 3 cards with Chase and am well over 5/24.

  14. JD says:

Not gonna waste my time chasing these Chase jokers. 🙂

  15. Bob says:

If anyone has a picture of the offers please share it! Asked to be matched and they said if I can provide a photo/copy of the offer they’ll. Thanks!

  16. Vince says:

Received 30k offer on Chase Freedom Unlimited.

11/24. 1/30 from United MPE. Have 3 chase cards, Freedom, CSP (converted to regular Sapphire), & MPE. Credit scores 720-720

Applied in LA county and application went to pending. Not a CPC client. No open Chase checking accounts.

  17. EmergDoc87 says:

I called the banker at my local branch who opened my checking account when I was getting the $300 checking bonus.

She confirmed I’m pre-approved for the Sapphire cards, but stated that the 60k bonus is only for select people, and I am eligible for a 50k bonus.

I made an appointment to go for it tomorrow since I just met my last minimum spend. If anyone can post the 60k bonus or has other recommendations on getting it matched please post

  18. Navitron says:

I signed up for the Chase Freedom with the $150 offer but haven’t used it yet. I sent a message through Secure Message Center if I could get matched the offer. No luck this was reply.
