[Expired] [Public Offer] Chase Pay: Get Extra 5x Ultimate Rewards at Best Buy, Ebags, and Tock with Any Sapphire Version Card or Freedom Unlimited [Max $200]

Offer has expired, view more Chase Pay deals here.

Update 9/12/18: Added public links below. We’ve confirmed with Chase that this offer is public for all Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire, and Freedom Unlimited cardholders, even if you didn’t receive the email. We’ve also confirmed that the $200 is combined so, for example, if you do $200 at Best Buy you won’t get credit for another $200 at Ebags. Each card should credit separately, though, if you have more than one eligible card.

The Offer

Sapphire Reserve | Sapphire | Freedom Unlimited

  • Get 5x bonus points when using Chase Pay at Best Buy stores, online at Ebags.com, or online at Tock.com. Max $200.

This offer has been sent out to some Sapphire cardholders (all versions) and on the Freedom Unlimited. The bonus is in addition to the standard earn on the card, resulting in 6x or 6.5x rewards.

The Fine Print

  • During the promotional period of September 1, 2018 to September 30, 2018, earn an extra 5 points on up to $200 in purchases at Best Buy® stores, online at restaurants on Tock and online at eBags® when you check out with your Chase Sapphire or Chase Sapphire Preferred card using Chase Pay.
  • Bonus points will post to your account within a week of the transaction posting, and will appear on your monthly credit card billing statement and be available for use within 1-2 billing cycles.
  • Purchases posted to your account with a transaction date during the offer period are eligible for this offer. Delays by the merchant, such as shipping, could extend the transaction date beyond the offer period.
  • To qualify for this promotional offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
  • This promotional offer is non-transferable.
  • For more information about your rewards program, see your Rewards Program Agreement.

Our Verdict

Many have gotten this offer, but we haven’t yet found a public link so we’re assuming it’s a targeted deal. There have been similar promotions in the past which were public offers with a landing page – let us know if you find one for this deal.

Best Buy is probably the offer people will find most useful, just keep in mind that one if for in-store only. They do sell gift cards in-store, you may even find a $200 Visa gift card there with a $5.95 activation fee.

It’s not clear in the terms if the $200 limit is separate for each of the three merchants or if it’s all combined. If you got the offer on more than one card, you should be able to get the bonus on $200 per card.

Thanks to many readers who sent in this deal.

Once again, no email or notification about it, but went ahead and called, Chase rep said it was on my CSR only, not my FU or 2 Freedoms.

Best Buy does sell ebay gift cards, combine that with one of their 15-20% off coupons, you can get some great deals, just some ideas.

You can use coupons on gift cards at Best Buy?

I think OP meant Ebay 15-20% off coupons that shows up every once in a while.

Got it in an email for the Sapphire.
Its too much work for 1,000 UR points. Will pass.

Some other ideas, Best Buy sells Cricket prepaid cards, among ATT and others. You’ll also earn Best Buy Reward points for all purchases.

Yay! I got this one yesterday. I was going to buy a washer dryer at Sears but this might make me buy at Best Buy

Abey

You’re only getting 1K UR worth $10-$20
The washer-dryer price/quality might have a significantly more difference between Sears/Best Buy

He may have a few chase cards with this Chase pay offer. But I agree with you, 6% on appliance is just meh. Sears has coupon like 65 off 499 or 10% off on appliances, which also stack with $200 points back for 200 spending right now. Don’t think Best Buy can beat that.

I ended up getting 1300 UR, 2399 MR, 1198 United Miles, $60 best buy gift card and $200 water bill credit for my washer dryer purchase. I am satisfied with the purchase

How did you get United.. MPX?

Best Buy price matches and likely sells the same appliances with the exception of Kenmore branded stuff but those are typically just whirlpool rebadges.

There’s also an Amex offer for $30 off $300, they’ll allow you to use multiple cards when checking out. Search DoC for the post and check your Amex card for the offer.

So it’s 5+1 = 6 points per dollar which would be equivalent to $0.09 when redeemed for travel.

I think BB stops carrying VGC, I’ve tried a few states while traveling, no luck. they all mentioned they stop carrying VGC

CM

They told me they only carry it for the holidays. And by holidays they mean just the Xmas season.

Called in and spoke to a kind but clueless rep. I had to spell out everything for him to search, and after several minutes, he found the offer for CSR only. Told me CSP is not eligible. He wasn’t able to check on my CF, but looks like DPs so far are only for CFU.

Sorry if this was assumed, but the public links don’t require activation or enrollment anywhere. Can we just use our card and receive the 5x points? Thanks!

Yes! That works for me!

I’m going to test this out. I have the CSR and the CFU (currently earning 3x pts for 1yr signup bonus). That would be awesome if i can get 6x pts with CSR and 8pts with the CFU. My email though only referenced the CSR not the CFU though.

“What’s Chase Pay?” says every Best Buy cashier within a 50-mile radius of me.

And I try to explain that it’s like Android Pay except with a QR code, a few with respond “Android Pay?”

Yeah, the high school kids working there don’t have credit cards or even one! The last chase pay promo at BB all the cashiers thought it was a cool idea. I got the complete opposite answer at staples and the guy told me, “you would be surprised how many ppl use it” All these hardcore MSers don’t even pull out their wallets anymore…
