Big shake-up in the Chase Sapphire Reserve option for Pay Yourself Back: at one point we were getting 1.5 cents per point cashout options, then for a while it’s been 1.25 cents per point. Starting today, 7/1/26, they lowered it further with the main categories offering just 1.20% cashout via Pay Yourself Back. Higher options still remain – here are the options for Q3 2026:
- Gas Stations 1.20 cents per point
- Public Transit 1.20 cents per point
- Annual Fee remains *1.25* cents per point
- Select Charities remains 1.5 cents per point
The categories themselves aren’t bad, but the lowering down to 1.2 cents is a hit. You can see the previous categories (expired) in this post.
Chase Sapphire Preferred has some lower to 1.05 cents:
- Public Transit 1.05 cents per point
- Pet Supply Stores & Vet Services 1.10 cents per point
- Annual Fee remains 1.10 cents per point
- Select Charities remains 1.25 cents per point
In terms of all other Chase cards:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business also has PYB, but only has one option: select charities at 1.25 cents per point.
- We did a separate post with the Pay Yourself Back categories on all other Chase cards; I assume all of those remain the same for Q3 2026 and beyond. If anyone sees a change, please let us know.
