[Expired] Chase Ultimate Rewards: 20% Transfer Bonus To Aeroplan (1:1.2)

Deal has ended, view more transfer bonuses by clicking here.

Update 6/16/24: Deal is back through 7/31 (ht techtrashbrogrammer)

The Offer

  • Chase Ultimate Rewards program is offering a 20% transfer bonus when you transfer to Aeroplan. Normally you can transfer at a rate of 1:1 and under this promotion that increases to 1:1.2

The Fine Print

  • Valid until 1/15/24

Our Verdict

Not as good as the previous 30% transfer bonus, but last time was 20% as well. This stacks with the 10% card member bonus as well (must transfer a minimum of 50,000 points), this applies to the base points being transferred. I don’t recommend transferring points speculatively but if you have a specific redemption in mind this could be useful. You can view more Chase transfer bonuses by clicking here.

Great value if you have a trip in mind for international business or first class travel. I wish Amex had the deal as I have more points with Amex than Chase. Chase has more flexibility in terms of transfer partners and I want to save UR points.

Got approved for this card today and received an email stating the card has been linked to your Aeroplan account. Hoping to receive the card in mail soon. My question is can I initiate the transfer of Chase UR to Aero today (for receiving extra 10% bonus) or do I have to link the physical card under payment section on my Aeroplan account?

Have done successfully before, but this time when I tried to transfer I get:
Special handling required. We are unable to process this transfer online. Please call the number on the back of your card for assistance.

dizzy I had that too when tried transferring from CIP. Calling was useless

Turned out it’s somehow a name / address mismatch between Aeroplan acct & Chase card. Even a small typo will cause it

I also have the aeroplan card which gives 10% but the strange thing is, the 10% posted pretty quickly (in 2 days) for my first transfer of 100k UR but I’m still missing the 10% for my 2nd transfer of 100k UR after 10 days. Have been trying to contact Aeroplan but the 800 number always asked me to submit a request online & nowhere online I can find a place to do that or an email address, very frustrating. Anybody else having similar issue?

The 20% bonus has not posted to my Aeroplan account. Made a transfer last night and only this morning do I even see the base points, but no 20% bonus. Super frustrating since I have a very specific award in mind.

zeer0 Did you manage to get this resolved?
In the past Chase and Aeroplan always pointed fingers in such situations

DailyGrindit bonus points showed up 2 days later. I did another Aeroplan transfer recently and it was instant, so YMMV

zeer0 Thanks for the update. Did you also get 10% (if transferred over 50k)?

DailyGrindit that’s only if you have the Chase Aeroplan card, I don’t

I see thanks. It might be worth getting the card still, this year.
10% extra points on up to 250k transfer

Does chase ever end these transfer bonuses early? I know AMEX does. Maxed out the 10% aeroplan bonus for the year so need to wait for it to reset January 1 for PYB

Love these transfers to Aeroplan. I’m a speculative customer at 20%. Risk of program downgrade over the next year vs a 20% bonus is worth It for me.

i’d much appreciate the flexibility of keeping the points in UR vs a measly 20%.

This makes chase points “worth” 1.625 cpp if you have the Aeroplan card and transfer exactly 50k

Aeroplan has been the most useful transfer currency for me, as they take both UR and MR and have reasonable fees. The wait times for phone assistance are geologic, but eventually when you get through, they have also been generally helpful.

Aeroplan is a great program. The only issue are award change fees which the big 3 in the US have removed.

Sadly that’s not the only issue.
The other major issue is the hold times when you need to phone an agent.
