[Expired] Chase Ultimate Rewards: Redeem For Apple Products With 20% Bonus

Deal has ended, view more Chase deals by clicking here.

The Offer

Direct Link to offer (login required)

  • On select cards, Chase is offering a 20% bonus for Ultimate Rewards redemptions on Apple products. E.g. you’ll get $120 in products for 10,000 points.

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 08/31/20 or while supplies last

Our Verdict

I’m only seeing this on my Sapphire Reserve, not on my Freedom. Given that Sapphire Reserve points can be redeemed at 1.5 cents toward grocery & dining purchases, this deal is not really useful.

Wouldn’t it be better to buy iTunes gift cards at the supermarket and then use those to buy apple products? And then reimburse the supermarket purchase at 150% (reserve) or 125% (preferred).

Or, reload iTunes via iPhone/iPad to trigger CSR’s 10x streaming credit for an effective 10% back in points, that you can then redeem for grocery purchases at 1.5x making it 15% cash back overall.
